If Ava hadn't shared WHY she was on this course--I would get it more, but she did tell her that she believes that Sonny is about to go for sole custody. Trina knows better than anyone how guarded and devoted Ava is about her little girl--especially after what happened to Kiki. It's a kneejerk reaction as the result of a plot point.
