in Molly and TJ's arms as they wept for joy at their daughter and appreciated what Kristina had done and confirmed her role as the fun aunt. It might also have gone better if TJ and Molly had been actively involved with Kristina's pregnancy so it was a group effort.

Instead from what we saw on screen, Kristina was by herself most of the time and mostly heard from TJ and saw Molly when she had the nerve to do something outside her apartment they didn't approve of.

My interpretation of the storyline is that Molly was justifiably dealing with warring emotions. She appreciated what Kristina was doing, but also resented her that it was so easy for her to get pregnant ... but mostly she blames herself for not being able to have the baby herself (the fact she didn't cause the situation doesn't change the emotions).

Alone with the baby Kristina bonded with the child she was carrying (which is why they recommend using surrogates who already have children).
She gave birth under extremely difficult physical and emotional circumstances. It is not unreasonable to think she might also be dealing with post partum depression.

Neither Molly nor Kristina know what would have happened if she had been born. We don't know what TJ and Molly would have done once they took the baby home. Would they include Kristina as aunt? Or would they have frozen her out wanting to make it clear that baby belonged to them and Kristina's job was done and she should go away?

We don't now if Kristina would have gone through with the custody filing once the baby was born, her hormones were back to normal and she saw how much TJ and Molly loved the baby. Or maybe should wouldn't care and would the villain of the story.

As it is all we have are three wounded people who are fighting over a child that is no longer available to any of them.

A storyline over sisters fighting over custody of a child one agreed to carry for her sister .... whose husband is the biological bather ... and the sister who refuses to give her up once she is born is a great story because they are fighting over what has happened not what might happened.
