Molly was the golden child who did everything right. Kristina was not. Alexis definitely didn't approve of K not going the traditional route of college and job. I think Kristina has alluded to the fact that Molly is her favorite because of that. Sure, Alexis has supported Kristina when she was in trouble, but she definitely wished K was more like Molly.

But now it is all reversed and we are to believe that Molly raised herself (RME).
