They don't understand what presidents can and can not do unilaterally, how much is in the hands of members of Congress, and how much is impossible due to things being done in foreign countries over which the president has ZERO control.

It's like the tools and fools who say that FPOTUS Trump will pardon the J6 crew if he gets back in office...and you're not supposed to ask, "Then why didn't he pardon them before he left office?"

Black farmers in Georgia thought that they'd get reparations for being cheated by USDA on farm loans in the past and it didn't happen. Reparations are about money. Congress has the power of the purse. The president can't change that. To believe he can is to be uninformed/naive.

People upset because President Biden didn't wipe out all student loan debts. Again, that's about money. Congress has the power of the purse. The president can't change that. To believe he can is to be uninformed/naive.

I've heard that Israel is a sovereign nation. President Biden and his people can beg, cajole, strongarm, etc. Israel all they want. PM Netanyahu does what he wants in his country. That includes cease-fires, attacks on refugee camps, etc. The only leverage we had in the past was the promise to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem...which FPOTUS Trump did for nothing. To think that a US president can snap his fingers and other countries immediately do what he says...like thinking that President Biden could tell Congress that he wants X and they would send him a bill to sign the next morning, is both uniformed and naive.

Is this a case of over promising and under delivering? I don't think so. I think some people heard what they wanted to hear and don't understand the powers or limitations of the presidency or that the Dems can only do so much when they spend the first half of their time in office cleaning up the mess left by the Republicans the last time.
