* built the bridge
* paid for the bridge
* owns the land both sides of the bridge stands on
* negotiated policies around the bridge with the US and Michigan -- policies that Michigan seems happy about.
And
* Once Canada is paid back for the bridge via tolls, Michigan will get 50% of the bridge it didn't build or pay for.
Have these people never read the Little Red Hen?
Anyway, no, apparently this was greatly unfair and a total swindle on our parts -- once again I wonder how Trump stans marry the fact that he's a "great businessman" with the fact that Canada is regularly screwing him in deals he made in 2017-2020.
Every time there's even a shot that maybe Canadians feel like they can work with Americans again, he turns up to show us that we literally can't trust them further than we can spit. It's incredible.
