I mentioned this in the weekend PP, but Mr. Kris and Jack went camping with Cub Scouts, leaving on Friday night. So I had a couple of days to myself!

Friday night I had some really good Chinese food and basically did nothing but have a couple of drinks - Absolut has a canned cranberry vodka drink made with Ocean Spray cranberry juice, it was pretty good (and kind of strong!)

Saturday I got up and had breakfast that I'd bought at Tous les Jours bakery the day before - an almond croissant and a milk cream bun. Both were delicious. Then I showered and tried out some new hair products - I had gotten a few Curlsmith items at Marshall's and someone I saw on TikTok had recommended a curly hair routine. For the most part I liked it, though her suggestion of using mousse right after the shower I think is a miss for me. Mousse just seems to dry my hair out. It may also be the shampoo I was using, called TGIN (thank god it's natural) sulfate free shampoo. I liked it because it actually lathered, unlike a lot of sulfate-free shampoos. The hair looked ok, definitely curlier, but still need to make some tweaks.

I then went out to CVS about getting a new prescription for Jack (ADHD) which was a pain in the butt, and then went to get cat food for Gretchen. The stuff she LOVED was discontinued so I've been trying new brands - so far she seems to really like the grain free stuff, of course it's the most expensive. Headed back home and even though I had told Mr. Kris he HAD to clean his own bathroom, I just couldn't leave it alone any more. It was absolutely disgusting and I felt bad for Jack since they share a bathroom. I got the vanity and toilet SPARKLING clean - I even took the covers off the faucet handles and scrubbed them! The only thing I left for him to do was the tub and do an all over with the Swiffer.

Made dinner, which was reheating some of the Chinese food from the previous day with some tweaks - I had ordered pork rice cakes (these kind of rice cakes are basically rice that's pureed and reformed into disks or tubes) and the person I ordered from said "oh I'll give you the shredded pork with mustard greens, you'll like it so much more!" Eh. No not really. It was fine, but IMHO kind of bland. So I added in some sliced mushrooms and then threw in some oyster sauce, soy sauce, and shaoxing wine. It was delicious after that!

Over the course of the day and evening I watched two movies I'd had on my list for a while - Wonka and Fabulous Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore. Both were just ok, I probably liked Wonka a little more. Dumbledore I probably would have liked more if I'd rewatched the second one before watching, because there really wasn't any recap at all and I'd forgotten a lot that happened. I had thought about going to see The Fall Guy, but by the time I was done with the bathroom I didn't feel like going out. And I wasn't going to pay $25 to rent it. I did think about renting the new Godzilla movie, but not until pretty late and I don't think I'd have stayed up to watch it.

Sunday I woke up early and headed up to the farmer's market - we usually never get there before 9, usually around 9:30 - on my own I got there right after 8. Got coffee, some fresh bread, zucchini, carrots, etc. Bought a couple things for lunch and then headed home. I was going to go pretty much straight home but realized that on my own I could stop at one of these little coffee shops we drive by every weekend in Locust Point. I had to pay for parking but it was cheap - went to a place called Order and Chaos Coffee, and got a Cherry Blossom Latte (cherry and almond syrup, white mocha sauce, and espresso). It was delicous! I sat and enjoyed it for a bit before heading home. And when I got there, Mr. Kris and Jack were already back, I wasn't expecting them until around noon and I don't think it was even 11 yet.

I ended up calling in leave for the day and we went out to a local place for pizza and it was EXCELLENT. I don't think I'd ever had their pizza and it was really good.

After my weekend alone I think I need another weekend to recover!
