Saturday I got up and had breakfast that I'd bought at Tous les Jours bakery the day before - an almond croissant and a milk cream bun. Both were delicious.

Oooo...I adore almond croissants! Can't say I've ever had a milk cream bun but there's very few pastries I *don't* like, so I'd love to try one.

It was really really really super soft bread with a light cream filling. I'd never had it before either but I liked it. I looked up the bakery - they have a location in Columbus and one in Oxford OH (plus one in Pittsburgh) so if you're ever out that way give it a try! They're a South Korean company, so some of the things they sell are different from a traditional bakery. I had an ube latte there in person when I picked everything up and it was so so so good.

Then I showered and tried out some new hair products - I had gotten a few Curlsmith items at Marshall's and someone I saw on TikTok had recommended a curly hair routine. For the most part I liked it, though her suggestion of using mousse right after the shower I think is a miss for me. Mousse just seems to dry my hair out. It may also be the shampoo I was using, called TGIN (thank god it's natural) sulfate free shampoo. I liked it because it actually lathered, unlike a lot of sulfate-free shampoos. The hair looked ok, definitely curlier, but still need to make some tweaks.

I thought the Curlsmith line was just OK. Have you ever tried the Zoto's All About Curls line? I like their conditioner and their gel quite a bit. I also recently tried, and liked, Mielle's pomegranate honey leave-in conditioner; it made my curls fairly well-defined plus they smelled divine <g>.

I haven't tried either of those. I so far like the Curlsmith conditioner and the foam (it's lighter than mousse, I comb it through my hair with a big comb and it usually makes my hair really soft and curly). I've been trying different products but overall my biggest issue is still with my hair getting frizzy. Different hair gels don't seem to be helping much.

Headed back home and even though I had told Mr. Kris he HAD to clean his own bathroom, I just couldn't leave it alone any more. It was absolutely disgusting and I felt bad for Jack since they share a bathroom. I got the vanity and toilet SPARKLING clean - I even took the covers off the faucet handles and scrubbed them! The only thing I left for him to do was the tub and do an all over with the Swiffer.

Not jealous of this part at ALL

It was SO gross. SO GROSS.

Over the course of the day and evening I watched two movies I'd had on my list for a while - Wonka and Fabulous Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore. Both were just ok, I probably liked Wonka a little more. Dumbledore I probably would have liked more if I'd rewatched the second one before watching, because there really wasn't any recap at all and I'd forgotten a lot that happened. I had thought about going to see The Fall Guy, but by the time I was done with the bathroom I didn't feel like going out. And I wasn't going to pay $25 to rent it. I did think about renting the new Godzilla movie, but not until pretty late and I don't think I'd have stayed up to watch it.

I kind of want to see Wonka but not enough to actually seek the movie out. Some day...

It's definitely a 'see it if it's free' type of movie IMHO. I have HBO Max from my brother and it was on there.

Sunday I woke up early and headed up to the farmer's market - we usually never get there before 9, usually around 9:30 - on my own I got there right after 8. Got coffee, some fresh bread, zucchini, carrots, etc. Bought a couple things for lunch and then headed home. I was going to go pretty much straight home but realized that on my own I could stop at one of these little coffee shops we drive by every weekend in Locust Point. I had to pay for parking but it was cheap - went to a place called Order and Chaos Coffee, and got a Cherry Blossom Latte (cherry and almond syrup, white mocha sauce, and espresso). It was delicous! I sat and enjoyed it for a bit before heading home.

Jealous again! Interesting that you got a Cherry Blossom...I mentioned in the weekend PP that I tried some thing called a Cherry Bomb from a local coffeehouse that I usually like quite a bit. It was, I think, just cherry syrup and espresso--no almond, no white mocha--and it was horribly bitter and sour. I've been mixing it with a little Coffeemate "Dirty Soda" creamer (coconut and lime) and it's...tolerable. Barely. A Cherry Blossom sounds much better.

That reminds me of a drink I got a couple weeks back - chocolate covered blueberry latte. It should have been good (I like blueberry in my coffee, especially from Dunkin) but this was overly tart and sour. I just did not care for it at all. I'm currently planning on getting back to Order and Chaos soon, hopefully they don't change out the latte anytime soon, it was on their seasonal list.

I ended up calling in leave for the day and we went out to a local place for pizza and it was EXCELLENT. I don't think I'd ever had their pizza and it was really good.

Mmmm...pizza.

After my weekend alone I think I need another weekend to recover!

😁
