I didn't like that they changed Blood & Cheese because it felt like they were taking some of the heat for it off of Daemon and I don't want that. I know Matt Smith is popular and beloved but he took the role of a truly horrible person so let Daemon be horrible in all of his brutal glory. I also feel like the show wants us to side with the Blacks more so than the Greens which I don't like. I want the waters to be as muddy on both sides as they were in the book.
That said, I don't really side with either group. Some I like from each side, some I hate. I'm more invested in characters as individuals.
I despise Criston Cole. Why is this POS still alive? I am highly entertained by Aemond in all of his dramatic glory, tho.
The sad thing about Aegon is that I think he might have been a decent king if his parents had bothered to raise him, especially his father. Viserys was just like "Welp, sired a boy, that's all the part I needed to play". The scene with Aegon hearing from the people was interesting because he wanted to do right by them but he just has no skills in this area because his freaking father never bothered to teach him how to rule. Viserys, man. I kinda hated him. And I know Viserys had named Rhaenyra his heir but what if she had died along the way? Aegon needed to be prepared himself.
I loved seeing Lord Stark and the Wall again. That was cool. Too bad Cregan isn't a bigger part of the story cause he's great. Poor, sweet Heleana. She didn't deserve this horrible fate. She's good at heart. :( I also love Rhaenys. She seems to feel about Daemon like I do.
