Interesting that people are commenting on how horrible ALL the names are for RR and BL's four daughters. Until I realized little James is a girl, I was going to ask what's horrible about it. I still don't like it for a girl--they could've gone with "Jamie"--but she's not the first girl with that name that I know of. Scott Caan named his daughter Josie James; her middle name is a nod to Scott's dad (and to my ears, both names together--Josie James--is all kinds of charming). Inez seems like an old-fashioned but OK name, though it's Portuguese in origin and I don't think either RR or BL are Portuguese? Is choosing names from a different culture considered cultural appropriation these days (serious question)? Betty is downright adorable, and if the stories on my phone are to be believed, old-fashioned names from the early 1900s are back with a vengeance.
I will say this...I'm a firm believer in parents being allowed to name their kid anything that's acceptable to the ruling body of their country. Which means no little Hitlers or random letters/numbers/symbols in most places. But I'm also a firm believer in a child having either one "normal" name or a name that has an acceptable nickname or shortened version. So if you're going to name your child Avocado, maybe make the middle name James or Robert, and if you're thinking of saddling your child with a first name like Beelzabeth, at least call her Beth.
Right now, I'm thinking of the Night Court reboot...we found out that Abby's first name is actually Abracadabra.
