Yep that stood out to me as well.

I wonder if parts of this movie were edited. I thought Cisely's reaction was a bit extreme about her period. I speculated that her father molested her but they didn't want to show it. Plus what was the point of Eve destroying the letter where their father claims that it he didn't touch Cisely. It seemed he was telling the truth here and the family is going to think otherwise?

I suspect it may have not been real because I think the curse on the family was in the works before Eve visited that witch. Things were off even before Louis met his maker.
