My sister and I are taking our parents to Germany to do the Christmas markets for Thanksgiving. We're getting away from family -- on my mom's side, they just lost a third sibling to cancer. My dad's family we haven't been close to in years. Anyway, happy new tradition starting!
Right now, we're looking at staying near Munich and moving around, hoping to get a day in Vienna. My mom is very fussy and so based on reviews, we think Berlin can be a miss for the family trip (we took her to London and Dublin, not a fan -- enjoyed Belfast and the Bath). Her least favorite city in the US is San Franciscan (I don't get it).
My sister is a huge history buff so we want to do a memorial or concentration camp.
Has anyone done something like this? Must sees? Things that people say are must sees but can pass on?
