I can't actually disagree with this, it costs 2 cents to make a one cent coin. It will be interesting though.
Here's the thing - there's a penny shortage and has been for years. I fully believe if everyone that has pennies in a jar turned them into their bank, we wouldn't have a penny shortage. I cannot count how many times I've gone in a home and they have those giant water bottles FULL of pennies and just don't turn them in, either because "they're just pennies" or the jar is too heavy. And that's just in one County in a small state.
