I can't say the impact has been exceptional. We still pay pennies when we don't use cash. I talked to a store owner and he said the thought it probably cost him a quarter a day -- but I'm not sure he was literally counting that out.

The reasoning up here wasn't just how much it costs to make a penny, it was the fact that you can't buy anything with a penny. There is no purpose to a unit of currency that doesn't cover anything.
