It IS interesting though...last season, we had one of the best records in baseball and dominated the AL Central. It was just assumed we'd make it to the World Series, so when we lost in the ALCS--to the hated Yankees, no less--it was both sad AND surprising. This year, we were so far back in August that everyone assumed we wouldn't make the playoffs, so it was a pleasant surprise when we did. And then of course we lost to the Tigers, who'd spent most of September crashing and burning before regaining their winning form against us in the wild card series.
Now I'm rooting for anything but a Yankees-Dodgers World Series <g>.
