Some preliminary notes;

I am truly sorry that I can't transcribe all of Kevin and Lucy's
dialogue and still get this out today. They were at their Kevin and Lucy
best. If you have the tape, stop reading now and go watch!

Flashback alert: My heart sunk yesterdsay when the flashback
started but I was relieved to discover it was a flashback to childhood.
I thought that maybe with only a half hour, they would dump the filler
flashbacks. No such luck. We had a flashback to the movie today.

My tape had been cutting off the beginning so I reset it. I am
99.99% sure that I got to the end, but someone please let me know if I
cut a scene.

We open in the Scanlon kitchen. Mom believes that this is a social call
and is making small talk. Joe and Alan excuse themselves to the porch
for a replay of Sunday night. Alan tells Joe that he returned because
he did not want to leave things on a bad note. Joe says "does this mean
that I don't have to go before the review board?" (Hard to believe that
this is his position but he's sticking to it.) Alan explains that he
does have to go before the review board and they argue. Joe says
(paraphrasing) "I see, you can screw up my whole life but you don't want
me to feel bad about it."

Cut to Lucy, Kevin and the FBI boys. Lucy reiterates how she couldn't
possibly have kidnapped Serena and the FBI boys reiterate how they're
not listening to a word she says. FBI boys go to call Scott. This call
requires two of them to cross the room, conveniently leaving us with a
K&L moment. Kevin tells Lucy how strong she's being. FBI boys return,
together, to tell her no one is answering and then we

Cut to Scotty on the ground. Scotty starts to wake up and Karen tries
to get him to move still. Lee and Gail, having taken lessons from the
FBI boys, leave together to call the ambulance. Scotty continues to
insist that he has to find Serena and Karen continues to insist that he
stay still.

The Scanlon kitchen again. Frank gets a call and tells Mom that Audrey
is out of surgery, critical but stable.

The argument on the porch. Joe insists that Alan is applying normal
standards to an insane situation and failing to account for the fact
that he had a gun pointed at him. Alan finally loses his cool and tells
Joe not to talk that way to him again. Alan tells Joe (and the
audience) that the committee repeatedly heard that Joe had a lot of
talent but is very volatile. Alan offers to forget everything that Joe
has said to him but Joe has to get himself under control. (Note to
Joe: it's a good deal, take it.)

Frank comes out to the porch and reports on Audrey. Alan says that
everyone had better hope for a full recovery and leaves. Frank asks Joe
what the hell is going on and Joe evades him.

They return to the kitchen where Mom insists that she has to stay and
clean to relieve her stress. They start to humor her and Joe gets a
glass and milk. Mom asks what he did for Audrey. Joe says she got a
head injury and he had to relieve the pressure. Mom asks how they did
that. Joe says there was a drill and we flashback to the closeup of the
drill just before he starts. End of flashback and Joe has poured the
milk everywhere because he spaced out. Mom, apparently unaware that she
is a nurse, doesn't understand what he did with a drill. They tell her
to drop it and she does. (I suppose that drill thing didn't tweak her
curiosity too much.)

They fill Mom in on the fact that Karen is one of the interns. Mom
coments that Rhonda didn't tell her that Karen was back in town.

Frank and Joe get an ambulance call. (This was the first time I
realized that Joe was on call with Frank.) They rush out despite the
recent stress and Mom looks after and says "just like your father."

Lucy and Kevin are pacing in the police station and Lucy is wondering
where Scott is. The FBI boys bring her food. Lucy looks at it and
immediately becomes nauseated. Kevin chalks in up to stress. Lucy
commnents on how she is stressed "in a subtextual way."

FINALLY! Lucy says "I've been trying to wait but they won't leave."
Then she turns to the FBI boys and says "OK gentlemen, I want to
confess." They get all hot and bothered. She tells them she had an
appt at 3 with Dr. Nancy Newman. The quick and almost accurate
transcription:
Kevin interjects "you didn't tell me that"
Lucy -- "I had a blood test and waited until 7 for the results and
drove the nurse crazy while I waited."
Kevin looks confused, the FBI boys leave, together, to check this
out.
Kevin asks why she didn't say this 5 hours ago.
Lucy says she wanted it to be perfect.
Kevin -- "Nancy Newman is an obstetrician."
   Lucy -- "yes"
   Kevin -- "does that mean . . .?"
Lucy -- "we're going to have a baby."
Lucy starts to cry and hug him. Kevin just looks shellshocked.

Cut to Scotty. The ambulance arrives with Joe and Frank and they are at
least surprised to run into Karen. Scotty insists he has to go find
Serena. They insist he has to go to the hospital. They win the
argument, probably because Scotty is incapable of getting up off the
ground. They load him into the abulance. Karen says she is riding with
them. Lee, who has returned together with Gail, promises to find
Serena. In the back of the ambulance, Karen tells Joe that Scotty is
her father.

Lucy is still crying in the police station. Kevin asks if she is upset
and she says no, she is hormonal. She wanted to tell him at the duck
pond. She then describes what she had planned. Kevin tells her it's ok
-- if she didn't tell him in the middle of a police station after
spending the night in the elevator shaft, how would he know it was her.
Then they talk about Sigmund and how this will affect him. Lucy assures
Doc that this wasn't a plot to get him to marry her, that they have
evolved way beyond marriage. Kevin suggests that they find a more
romantic place to discuss marriage.

The FBI boys return -- together -- and tell her that Dr. Newman has
confirmed her story and she is free to go.

Joe, Frank and Karen are rushing into ER with Scotty shouting out
vitals. Dr. Burgess (our first glimpse of her -- to me, she looks
remarkably like Dara) takes over, dismissing them. Joe tries to get
Karen into the room by announcing that she's an intern and then that
she's his daughter. Frank overhears this. Burgess snaps "you're
wasting my time."

They stand in front of the doors and Frank says "so he's your father."
Karen says, with quite a bit of attitude, "surprise I had one after
all." (I can't understand why she's leaning on Joe and sniping at
Frank.) Burgess comes out and gives Karen the consent form for Scotty.
Karen says that the circumstances are unusual and hestitates about
signing. Burgess, annoyed, basically orders her to sign it. Burgess
passes off the consent and the patient to the "surgeons."

Alan calls Burgess over. He tells her that she is new chief resident
with Falk dead. Burgess says she'll have to supervise the interns
starting tomorrow but she doesn't know who they are. Alan points to Joe
and Karen and says she has met two of them. He says that he has known
Karen a long time and she will be good. Burgess, apparently able to
develop a grudge quickly, says "if you say so." He tells her the other
is Joe Scanlon but he won't be starting tomorrow because he is on
suspension. Burgess says "already?" Frank at the other end of the
counter, overhears the suspension part and seems surprised.

We end with Karen and Joe. Karen tells him that she doesn't belong in
Port Charles and she is returning to San Francisco.
