Murray) Subject: PC: Friday Update - 6/20/97 Date: 23 Jun 1997 06:08:30 GMT Port Charles - Friday Update - June 20th 1997 (posted and e-mailed) Joe finds an exhaused Karen in the interns room. She tells him about her hard day at work, and jokingly says, "I think I'm going to be a crossing gaurd when I grow up." He gives her the bouquet of flowers he's been carrying around all day, and thanks her for helping him out with the review board. In the basement apartment Eve skips into the bathroom but finds it's already occupied by Julie. Eve instructs her to hurry up since she has to get ready for the Nurses' Ball. Julie tells Eve to clean up the mess while she's waiting. Eve asks "what mess?" and Julie shouts a reminder of the coffee mug and spoon. Eve takes the opportunity to fish in Julie's purse and take a look at her checkbook which obviously has a higher balance than Eve's. Frank comes down the stairs. At the lighthouse the FBI agent fingers the five million that Scotty has got together for the official, not-gonna-happen, drop. Kevin questions the timing of said drop, pointing out that it's unusual for the Kidnappers to give so much time. Scotty tells him to shut up, he doesn't need to hear something like that. Lucy walks into the church confessional.. Rex (*woof") is on the other side posing as a priest with a bad Irish Accent. She tells him that she's come up with a plan but wants reassurance that Serena is safe. He asks if she didn't get the pictures. She declares her hatred of him and he instructs her to say five "our fathers". She tells him that Scott will get him after this. And that will cost her three "hail Marys". Lucy tells Rex (*arf*arf*) that she and Scott have a plan. But first she wants to know when they'll get Serena. He tells her they'll have Serena back tonight if the money is delivered. Lucy prepares to tell him "The Plan". Meanwhile back at the Lighthouse, Kevin harps on the amount of time the kidnappers have given them. Scotty tell him that he's driving him crazy. "Crazy Collins, like I haven't heard that before." Scotty ignores him and asks Agent Conklin to make sure the money wasn't marked or rigged to explode or anything. The agent leaves to go do whatever it is he does in that van. Kevin and Scotty have a private chat. Scott says that Kevin overanalyzes everything and he should go wash his car. Kevin ignores him and continues to analyze why the kidnappers would send a picture of Serena when they hadn't even been asked for reassurance. Unless... Kevin trails off, the correct idea having occurred to him. Scott tells him it's time he told Kevin the truth. (Obviously having no such idea.) Back in the confessional Lucy has just shared the plan with Rex (*grrr*). "Whaddya think?" Lucy asks. Rex (*Howl*) doesn't say anything, and Lucy demands a response. After he says " tis a lovely plan". She asks him to tell how and when she can find Serena. Again he is silent. "Father Kidnapper!" She prompts him. "You will be needin' that information won't you?" But he doesn't give it to her. He slips out of the confessional leaving behind a frustrated Lucy. Frank asks Eve what she's doing, since he saw her looking at the checkbook. She drops it back into the purse and picks up the dirty dishes, claiming that "m'lady" asked her to clean up. She asks him to knock before coming in, and he says that his services were requested, and holds up the wrench, like that proves something. Julie comes out of the bathroom and tells him that the hot water is working, the knobs were just on backwards. Frank blames Joe for that. Frank goes upstairs to change into his tuxedo for the ball. Eve asks Julie if she has a date with Frank. Julie says it's a lift. Eve says she likes Frank because "he's down home, just like you, sweetheart". Karen and Joe talk about Scott's amazing appearance at the Review Board. Karen brings up the fascinating Tractor Trailer disaster, they've both been working on. Joe reminisces about popping back in a dislocated shoulder. Ah the good times. Karen says that Jagger thinks her work is boring. (Judging from this conversation... it is.) Gina* comes in and tells Karen they need to talk. Joe, as he's leaving, overhears Gina ask Karen when she's going to tell Jagger she doesn't want to be married anymore. Scotty lies to Kevin (by ommission) and the "truth" he tells him is that he's taking out his frustrations on Kevin, because he can't control anything around him, and he hates Kevin being two steps ahead of him. (Get used to it Scott!) And Scott thinks that Kevin should back off. Kevin says he will, but not when it involves Lucy. He'll never back off when it comes to her. Lucy comes back to the Lighthouse, and asks the two men what they're talking about Kevin says they've been "sharing". Kevin wonders why she's there since they were supposed to meet at the hotel. She says she's come back for her lucky duck feather and would he run upstairs and get it for her. Scott asks how the meeting went, she tells him it went fine, but that she's not sure she can go through with it. Eve sarcastically admires Julie's simple dress. Julie asks her if she needs a lift, but Eve refuses, saying three's company. Julie leaves and Frank comes downstairs. Eve reminds him that in addition to knocking he should wait for permission to enter. Frank tells Eve to stay out of Julie's stuff and out of Julie's face and out of Julie's life. Or else what? Eve asks. He threatens to evict her, and is just very, very rude. He stomps back up the stairs. Eve shouts up that Julie doesn't need his protection. Gina jumps down Karen's throat for being on the outs with Jagger. Gina is somewhat hysterical and mentions something about Jagger in San Francisco trying to avenge Stone's death. She breaks down and says that everyone has forgotten Stone. Karen comforts her. Gina apologizes and they agree to go to the ball together. Karen leaves (no sleep and she's going to the ball that evening? She'll be wiped tomorrow.) Gina spots the flowers and the "to Karen from Joe" tag, and thinks maybe Karen wasn't being truthful. Outside the lab (yeah, Lucy's lab) Joe looks pensive and remembers Gina's line about Karen leaving Jagger. Scott stares pensively out of the Lighthouse and remembers Lucy's line about not being able to go through with it. Lucy, at the hotel setting up the banquet, has a pensive look and remembers Scott saying, yes you can. (And it's a pity they couldn't cut to Kevin staring pensively at the hotel, wondering what they were going to be serving for dinner.) Instead Lucy imagines that Serena has come into the room in a fluffy white dress, that matches Lucy's own white fantasy dress. Serena asks if she's Lucy and they embrace, and Lucy twirls her around. Serena thanks her for saving her. Lucy comes back from her fantasy and says that she can do it, for Serena. "If all the wishes of all the girls who ever wanted to go to a ball turned into one big wish it would not be any harder than my wish." -- Cinderellla Director: Susan Dansby *Gina "I'd be gratefull for a storyline on any show" Williams - Jagger and Stone Cates little sister, adopted by a wealthy family that lost most of it's money recently.
