Today's scenes included Eve, Chris, Ellen, Grace, Matt, Frank, Julie,
Kevin, Scott, Serena (briefly), Lucy, Danielle, and Rex

The scene is the ER where Chris and Eve are updating some patient charts.
Eve is bragging about how the patient lived due to her care. Chris says
that Burgess was watching over her shoulder during the whole procedure.
Eve remarks, "Yes, but Burgess hasn't been so feisty lately now that she's
in trouble, too." In the meantime, Dr. Burgess greets a patient being
wheeled in by Grace with, "What's this?"  The patient takes offense;
"what's this! You mean who is this! I'm a person!" Ellen instructs Grace
where to take the patient and goes to break up Chris and Eve's discussion
of her by sending them off to tend to the patient.

Grace begins to talk to Ellen about her treatment of both patient and
interns, but Ellen stops her. She says she knows people are talking about
her so she's going to confront it head on. Matt rolls up and inquires as
to what she's going to do to defend herself. Grace takes a phone call and
then tells Ellen she's been summoned to Dr. Quartermaine's office; he wants
to hear her side of what happened with Ellen's treatment of Cooper. Ellen
tells her not to worry, just go and tell what she knows. Matt tells Ellen
that if anyone asks him (which she assures him they will) he's not going to
tell them about the scene he observed with Ellen talking to Cooper in his
room. Later, Grace returns, looking glum, and wants to speak with Ellen in
private. Ellen tells her not to worry, anything she has to say will be all
over the hospital in twenty minutes anyway, so go ahead and talk about what
happened in Dr. Quartermaine's office in front of Matt.

Meanwhile, Chris and Eve are tending to the patient, who suffered from
multiple minor head injuries due to a bicycle accident. Chris' bedside
manner leaves a lot to be desired: he tells the patient, "Next time wear a
helmet, genius." They proceed to discuss, in front of the patient, the
situation with Julie. Chris demands to know why Eve is refusing to help
him despite the fact that he's paid her $500. She says that's not the way
to get Julie's attention. She won't think more of him if she finds out
Chris worked to take her attention away from Frank. We are treated to a
flashback (from just yesterday, when Chris mailed Frank the clipping about
Julie and her father). Chris wants to know what Frank has on Eve that
makes her afraid to do what she's supposed to do. Eve assures him it's not
Frank; it's Julie. She stood up for Eve when Frank was going to kick her
out of the house. She owes Julie, even if she doesn't like it. Chris
doesn't like this.

At Chez Scanlon, Frank is impatiently waiting for Julie. He opens the door
to the basement apartment and "pages" Dr. Morris. She says to start an IV
and get blood gas work started, she'll be there in a minute! Frank says
come on, he's getting hungry. Julie arrives as he's beginning to open his
mail, which includes the letter sent from Chris. Julie is wearing a pale
yellow dress (and apparently not much else and it must be kind of chilly on
the set). They banter about where they are going to eat. He tells her
it's a very exclusive place that serves terrific seafood and has a
wonderful view...actually he's bought a gourmet dinner from a local shop,
packed it in a basket. Before they leave Frank pulls her close and plants
a kiss on her that would normally knock her socks off....'cept she wasn't
wearing any. She inquires what that was all about. He says he just wanted
to get it out of the way so they wouldn't spend the whole date wondering if
there would be a kiss at the end. She remarks, "how romantic!" and they
are off to the beach. They spread a blanket. After some more banter,
Julie suggests they work up an appetite for dinner. Frank gets a gleam in
his eye, but she's thinking more about the frisbee included in the basket.
Later, Frank fakes falling on his bad knee, Julie immediately rushes to
help him, he grabs her again and plants another kiss on her. She makes a
comment about his devious deception; he agrees...men are dogs. They kiss
some more. [Don't know if they'll ever get to the goodies in the basket.]

Kevin is on the phone asking for Mac's help in getting information on Rex
Stanton. He remarks how he's been using an alias, at which point Scott and
Serena arrive. Scott hears enough to know that Kevin is checking out
Lucy's business associate. At the end of the phone call Kevin discovers he
wasn't alone and wants to know how much Scott heard. Scott suggests Serena
go off to watch the three Stooges, which she does. Scott remarks that he
thinks it's a good thing the way Kevin is watching out for Lucy, but he
should be careful because she's a pretty independent 90's woman and might
resent Kevin butting into her business. Kevin bristles at Scott's
"approval" and at the insinuation that anything involving Lucy might not be
his business. He doesn't want to accept advice on how to handle Lucy from
Scott and he certainly makes it clear to Scott that phone calls he makes in
his own home are PRIVATE. Scott notes that he might be moving out. Kevin
is encouraged by this and asks where. Scott says he saw a piece of land
where he might want to build. Kevin is dismayed as this will take a long
time. Scott loves Kevin's consternation and then tells him he thinks
he'll move into the brownstone. Kevin thinks this is an excellent idea and
celebrates with a drink. Scott declines, claiming he doesn't drink much
[can't remember, was he always that way?] and wonders where Lucy could
be...she should be there to join in the celebration. Kevin knows that
Scott knows that Kevin doesn't know where Lucy is...and that bothers him.

But Lucy, we know, is at Danielle's door. Danielle greets her and Lucy
feels a bit ill at the stomach, which she contributes to hearing show tunes
coming from Danielle's apartment and they remind her of Dominique [here I
must add my own utter dismay at the direction TIIC are moving with Lucy's
pregnancy]. Lucy introduces herself and asks if Danielle has a few minutes
to talk with her. Danielle invites Lucy in while Rex eavesdrops from the
bedroom. Lucy and Danielle share some information about each other and
Lucy tells Danielle some things about Dom. Danielle has a flair for
decorating and floral arrangements; Lucy remarks how those are traits she
shared w/her sister and compliments Danielle on her talent. Danielle
downplays it; her talents have never earned her much money. They continue
to chat and then Lucy asks to use the restroom; she thinks she's had too
much iced tea and is feeling a bit uncomfortable. Danielle says sure, it's
over there, but Lucy opens the room to the bedroom just as Danielle
realizes where she's headed and calls out, "Not there!"
