Karen pulls Joe away from Dr. Bordman and tries to talk some sense into
him. Joe calms down and then apologizes to the pompous as...oops, I mean
Dr. Bordman. He goes back to talk to Karen and Bordman tells Grace that
Dr. Devlin will make him look easy. Karen leaves and Grace comes over
to commiserate about what a jerk he is and warn him that Bordman is setting
him up. She advises him to be super-prepared. Karen returns and Joe passes
out the warning.

Mary arrives at Frank's with groceries. He puts up a token protest, then
helps her unpack. She wonders what's wrong and he tells her that there
is something that he doesn't like about Julie's father. He tells his mom
about who Julie is, including the fact that she's not Catholic. He's surprised
that Mary isn't bothered about it - but she appreciates Julie's other
qualities.

Julie walks in on Ben and Eve arguing and demands to know what's going
on. Eve tells Julie that she was telling her dad that he was making things
hard on Julie by staying. Julie buys it and tells her dad that she has to tell
people that they're related. He tells her that may not be a good idea since
he will be joining them on rounds the next morning and it would look
opportunistic to come out with it now.

Julie runs into Frank in the hall. He tells her about his mom's approval.
She tells him how odd it was to find Eve and Ben arguing. Frank thinks
Julie should tell Ben to leave, but Julie tells him it's not wise to tell
her dad
what to do. (BTW, they're back home by this point). Mary comes in and
gives some phone messages to Frank. Joe and Karen arrive with books
and papers and to warn Julie about the sadistic Dr. Devlin.

Meanwhile, Devlin is hanging out at the interns break room. Wearing the
standard towel, Eve comes out of the shower. He pretends concern that Eve
has to share an apartment with Julie and how uncomfortable it must be for
her. He threatens her vaguely that she shouldn't feel empowered by the
situation that he and she are in. (Cliffhanger)

Lucy breaks the news to Scott that Dom's fertility doctor has died. Kevin
tells them he knows that Dr. Bissell died in a canoeing accident. Scott is
suspicious and thinks the “accident” was caused by Rex. Kevin gives them
the lowdown on Rex. His name really is Gustav Bausch, his mother was a
Stanton. Avery was responsible for him being called Rex because he treated
him like the family dog. There was fierce rivalry between the brothers which
got worse as they got older. Rex got a chemistry degree - school records
called
him brilliant. He worked for several pharmaceutical companies, went into
investments and then became interested in Jax cosmetics. A registered package
arrives - it contains proof that Rex was in Europe during the kidnapping, and
also was not around during the time of Bissell's death. Scott sees that
Rex has
covered his tracks and angrily walks out. Kevin follows. Serena comes down,
having heard Scott yelling. Lucy covers by saying it was a business
letter. She
tries to distract Serena by talking about school, but Serena wants a story
- the
one about Scott and Lucy pretending to be Russian - Lucy complies.

Outside, Kevin tells Scott he shouldn't think about leaving with Serena.
In PC,
he has home court advantage. He thinks that if anyone can use that, Scott can.
