Grace tells the whole cast that Danielle is bleeding internally and has
massive chest injuries.  Frank and Matt try to ease Jake's worried and
guilty conscious, but he feels bad about how he's treated her.  He worries
that she doesn't have the will to live.  Meanwhile, the very bloody surgery
is going on (a little too graphic for me!)  Jake tries to get more details from
Grace who tells him she will probably lose some internal organs and may
have a broken neck.

Scott is worried (and admitting that he's being selfish) that if Danielle dies,
he won't have the proof for the Feds.  He asks Jake about his calling the
firehouse, Jake says he didn't call - Scott realizes that it probably was Rex.
Scott tries to tell the cops but they don't seem to listen.  Later, the cop
asks
Rex about the phone call and that Danielle was afraid of him.  Rex says she
was only scared of Scott and he is too.  He says Scott probably caused it,
and he's afraid that he'll be next.  The cop goes back to Scott and warns him
about doing anything threatening towards Rex.

Julie and Bennett arrive, Frank & Matt tell Julie about the accident.  She
asks Jake if there's anything she can do - he asks her to pray.  Julie goes
and lets Ben know what happened.  He tells her he talked to Nicole and
she seems serious about getting a divorce.

Matt talks to Frank about the accident - looking for a cause.  There didn't
seem to be any other car involved.  Frank thinks they'll never know what
really happened.

Back in the OR, Danielle's heart stops, they try to restart it - Karen
especially
tries hard to revive her.  The operating doctor stops her and pronounces
Danielle dead.  They all exit the OR (leaving me wondering - don't they close
her up first - even if she's dead?)  Joe and Karen break the news to Jake.
Rex comes over and tells Jake that he's sorry - Jake punches him.
Unfortunately,
everyone stops him.  Rex blames Jake for her death and Kevin all but throws
Rex out bodily.  Kevin talks to Jake who is blaming himself - Kevin says he
was in the same situation.  He loved someone who died in a car accident and
he blamed himself for a long time.  Kevin tells Jake that Danielle would want
him to find peace.  Jake goes up to say good-bye.

As Jake walks in, Grace is just pulling the sheet over Danielle, and the OR is
spotless.  Grace leaves him alone with her.  Jake breaks down and tells
Danielle
that he'll miss her.
