Gail needs a baby-sitter for Serena while she meets with a patient.  Serena
came home sick from school.  Scott is worried about her psychological state,
but Gail doesn't think it's serious.  Kevin agrees to go in lieu of Lucy, who
is
helping Jake pick out clothes for Danielle.  Lucy has a pin that was Dom's
that she wants to use, Jake appreciates it.  Scott knows how Jake feels, he
remembers when Dom died.  He wants Kevin to agree to Lucy's plot to
get close to Rex - Kev points out what happened to the last woman close
to Rex.

After Lucy, Jake, and Kevin leave, Lee shows up.  He tells Scott that Mac
helped him get the toxicology work from the police lab.  Nothing has shown
up.  Lee says he has some contacts in the PD working extra hard on it.  Scott
thinks there must be something on Rex somewhere.

Kevin sits with Serena.  He talks to her about her stomach aches, she tells
him that she hates school and is never going back.  The kids at school are
saying bad things about her Dad and she's worried that she'll have to live
with Rex.  If that happens, she'll run away so far she can't be found.  Kevin
asks her to promise that she'll never do that, no matter what happens.  Later,
after he returns to the firehouse, he tells Scott that he's willing to go along
with the Lucy Plot.  Lucy arrives home and gets the news.  She wants to get
everything started at the funeral, by arguing with Scott.  Kevin is doubtful,
but Lucy thinks that Danielle would approve - anything that will get Rex.

Eve tells Ben that she told Nicole about the affair being meaningless.  And
as she predicted, it didn't make Nicole feel better.  Ben thanks her for
trying.
He says that Nicole is going to stay in PC, so he'll stay also and fight for
her (and the hell with his patients back home).

Chris calls Nicole - he got out of  surgery early and is free for lunch - does
she want company?  Apparently, “lunch'' entails getting undressed, since
we next see Chris and Nicole getting dressed in his bedroom.  They discuss
her impending divorce.  Her lawyers want her to take Bennett to the cleaners
- she just wants out.  Chris agrees with the lawyers - she should make her
husband pay for cheating on her.  He says he would if someone hurt him like
that.  They hear the door, Chris says it's probably his roommate - he'll get
rid
of her.  Nicole is not happy that he lives with a woman.  Chris goes to get rid

f Eve, while Nicole waits in the bedroom.  After Eve leaves, Nicole lights into
Chris for not telling her he was living with the woman who ruined her marriage
(Ben is a woman?!).  He tries to tell her it's just a temporary crashing place
for
Eve, but she leaves in a huff.

Rex is talking to the funeral aid and wants to talk at the wake.  Jake
overhears
and tells him that he won't let him.  Lucy tries to calm Jake down.  Rex gives
a
little speech about all he did for Danielle.  The aid takes Jake and Lucy off
to
see the funeral director.  Rex tells a picture of Danielle that even in death
she
continues to make life difficult for him.  Rex gives a brief eulogy at the
wake.
Jake next gets up to speak.  He tells them he knows a lot of them had mixed
feelings about Danielle, but that she was a good and kind person.  He tells
them she died trying to do the right thing - there was nothing but good in her
heart.  All leave but Rex and Scott.  Scott lights into Rex, and Lucy comes in
to stop him - they start fighting - he tells her to butt out and she calls him
self-centered.  Everyone gathers in the doorway to listen, looking concerned.
