From: mtczajka@aol.com (MTCzajka) Subject: PC: Update Wednesday 12/24 Date: 24 Dec 1997 18:02:37 GMT MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!!! Julie listens while Chris confronts Bennett about giving him a bad review, not because he's a bad doctor, but because he slept with Nicole. Ben tells him to make an appointment with his secretary to discuss it. Chris tells him that they'll discuss it now or he'll tell everyone about Nicole. Ben threatens Chris - he isn't scared. Julie comes over and tells Chris that her father doesn't like it when people don't tremble at the sound of his voice. She tells her father he was unprofessional to give Chris a bad review for personal reasons. She tells Ben that his reviews are worthless since they are not objective. Ben reminds them that he is their superior and walks off. Chris is surprised at Julie's defense, she tells him that the thing with her mother wasn't all his fault - he got caught in the aftershock. Later, Ben asks Julie if he can talk to her. She snarkily replies that she doesn't want to get in trouble at her next review for talking to her father while on duty. He gives her a backhanded apology, telling her he under- stands why she flared up at him. She tells him he obviously didn't listen to what she said. Changing the subject, he says wants a family dinner - she tells him they don't have a family anymore. Ellen peeks in the door, listening to her brother and mother share a funny story. She goes in and Winston asks "How is my mother?" Ellen says she is recovering quickly. Mom twists the knife by saying she owes it all to her son, nothing helps as much as loving care. Ellen wishes them Merry Xmas and leaves. They both look subdued for a second, then start discussing this years dinner. In the hallway, Matt tries to chat with Ellen about her being reunite with her family. She tells him that contrary to popular belief, the holidays don't always bring out the best in people - she can do without them. He asks if she means without the holidays or family. She nicely tells him to mind his own business. Jake arrives at Gail's with Scott. They have come from his court case for punching Rex. He was given community service at the hospital. Lucy arrives with gifts, Scott snaps at her. They go outside to talk - Lucy tells Scott he has to forbid her to see Serena to get the plan going. Scott isn't happy with the idea - he thinks it'll hurt Serena. He finally agrees and they go back in. Serena gives Lucy a Santa head that she made. Serena opens up a gift from Lucy - a stuffed duck (just like one I had when I was little!) Lucy tells Serena she has to go off on a business trip for a while (so Scott can pretend to throw her out of Serena's life without hurting Serena.) Lucy returns to her room, and seeing someone hiding in the curtains, starts beating the curtain with her purse. Kevin voice stops her and he steps from behind the curtain dressed as Santa. He tells her she was on the "good" list, but after that beating, he knows she's just as bad as ever. She breaks down about not being able to see Serena until after the Rex thing is over (hopefully, very, very soon.) (I missed a bit in here - the channel or my cable went out for a couple of minutes.) Kevin has brought Lucy a special present - Sigmund! Lucy kisses Santa while Sigmund quacks away in the background. Karen and Joe tell Rhonda (also at Gail's) about their trip away. She is happy for them - to their surprise. Karen tells Scott that she's going away to a cabin with a friend. Ben tells Matt that he brought in food for the people who have to work on Christmas. He tells him that he can't count the number of times that he missed out on gatherings with loved ones because duty called. Matt thanks him and wheel off. Ben goes over to a dressed up Julie, but before he can say anything, Frank comes up and whisks Julie off to a Scanlon Christmas. Ben watches after them sadly (which the actor does *very* well - I felt sorry for the lonely slime). Once again, Ellen peeks in the door of her mother's room, this time watching her open a gift from Winston - a picture of Winston and Alice. She closes the door and turns to see Matt. He has a beautifully wrapped gift (and wrapped like normal people do - all around the box - not a lid and box wrapped separately!) She thanks him and is obviously very touched. Jake stares out of the foyer window, then stands looking sad. Serena comes in and asks if he's found a star for Danielle yet. He's a bit confused, so she explains about her mommy's star and tells him that when it's dark, they can pick out a star for Danielle near Dominique's. Jake likes the idea. Scott comes in and takes Serena back to the party followed by Jake. Serena leads the group in a Christmas carol while GhostDom appears off to the side (it would have been nice to have a GhostDanielle appear with her!) Marguerite Marguerite.Czajka@ChicagoIL.NCR.COM
