Update
Port Charles
1/27/98

Rex is aghast at Boyton's insistence on killing Serena. He reminds Boyton
[you know, the one with the DARK GLASSES *hint, hint, nudge, nudge*]
that without Serena there is no way to get ahold of Serena's money. He
also assures Boyton that everything is going according to plan. Boyton
reminds Rex that he's got all sorts of evidence tying him to the
kidnapping; Rexie doesn't take the not-so-thinly-veiled threat well.
Boyton reiterates that Serena can't meet with a sketch artist and Rex
reassures him that she won't.

Scott tells Eve that a nurse from Oak Wood is now working RIGHT HERE AT
GH. Kevin comes in, checking his mail, and is dismayed to find an
invitation to Lucy and Rex's engagement party.

Kevin dons one of his many disguises [Radiator Repair Man <TM>] and goes
to see Lucy, to RSVP to his party invite. They argue again about the
plan. [My personal favorite line of the day is after Lucy tries to
convince Kevin that they are making headway with the plan, since they did
find out that there's an accomplice around somewhere and Kevin responds
with "Well, DUH."] Lucy figures the party is a great way to figure out
who Rex's accomplice is. Kevin is still concerned the engagement will
turn into a marriage and holidays and anniversaries.

Scott and Eve show the nurse from Oak Wood the picture of Rex and Mystery
Boy. The nurse recognizes him as "Kathy Fawcett's boy."

Doctor Burgess consults with Matt on how to deal with a teen who may be
paralyzed for life. Matt tells her to be honest with him, but not to
scare him. He says to give him something hopeful and something to work
toward, but not to mislead him or "blow smoke." Matt lets on that his own
doctor didn't deal with Matt with that kind of consideration. "He was the
kind of doctor I swore I'd never be."

Boyton brings Conklin a fake death threat against Serena. It says "Serena
will die if she sees a sketch artist." [Sorry... didn't see how any able
bodied FBI agent wouldn't doubt *that* one's authenticity.] Conklin
thinks it could be a last ditch effort by Scott to look innocent. Boyton
brings up the idea of an accomplice in the kidnapping. Conklin decides
Serena has to go to a safe house and tells Boyton to arrange it. When he
leaves, Boyton calls and cancels the sketch artist.

In the meantime, Serena has decided she wants to try to draw the man from
her dream herself. He kind of looks like one of the kids from South
Park... with BIG DARK CIRCLES around his eyes.

Kevin and Lucy are in bed. They've obviously calmed down from their fight
and made up. Lucy is sad because all the things she's doing with Rex,
she'd dreamed of doing with Kevin. He says the only thing keeping him
going is imagining the day when they can be a real couple again. They're
kissing again, amidst fond memories of making up, when the phone rings.
It's Eddie the Caterer. Lucy is shocked that he would even *think* of
having duck at the party. Kevin is not happy listening to Lucy plan the
big party; especially when she takes special care to insist on Rex's
favorite food--lobster.

Ellen encounters the teen with the injured spine. He asks for information
and when Ellen finally admits he could end up paralyzed, he lashes out and
tells her to stay away from him.

Serena and Gail are drawing other pictures when Conklin shows up, tells
Gail there's been a threat, and tries to whisk them away to a safe house.
Gail insists on contacting Scott.

Scott and Eve are getting ready to celebrate finding out Mystery Boy's
name when Gail calls and tells him about the threat and safe house. Scott
tells her to stay put until he gets there. Eve leaves with him to go to
Gail's house.

Chris tries to get more info out of Matt about his accident. We learn
that it was a skiing accident in Telluride, Co. A 30 foot fall over a
cliff, broken by pine trees. Chris has a montage flashback of Matt in
various situations protecting his background.

Scott and Eve show up at Gail and Lee's house, but they're too late. The
house is empty.

The End.
