Port Charles Update
January 30, 1998
Razz standing in for TnT

At Police Headquarters, Conklin arrives to tell Scott and Lee that the
gunpowder tests are negative; Scott did not kill Boynton. Conklin,
Scott and Lee debate Boynton's innocence or guilt and Scott tells
Conklin to investigate Rex.

At GH, Eve tells Kevin she has a good lead on Kathy Fawcett, the mother
of the boy in that photo with Rex. Kevin laments how much Lucy is
enjoying the game, especially her wedding plans with Rex. Kevin tells
Eve he knows Lucy, she will marry Rex in order to protect Serena.

At his dark fortress, Rex burns all of Boyton's records, the ones that
would have implicated him in the kidnapping. Lucy walks in and catches
him in the act. She fishes the photo of Rex and Boyton out of the fire
and tries to charm him into revealing the name of his companion in the
photo. She fails and he burns the photo.

At GH, Ellen reminds Matt that he still needs to x-ray his aching back.
Matt makes her promise that he will not reveal the results. Matt exits
and Joe slides onto the scene when he slips on a wet floor. Joe chews
out the orderly who had been swabbing the deck and Ellen advises him to
go discuss his angry outbursts with Doctor Collins or she will terminate
his internship. (Did Kevin get reinstated off camera or is everyone
referring patients to an unlicensed physician?)

Back at the Cop Shop, Conklin tells Scott and Lee that Garcia's
investigation has cleared Scott of Boynton's murder.

At GH, Eve and Kevin are still tracking down Kathy Fawcett. Eve is
happy to call Scott and give him the news.  They found Kathy Fawcett;
she's on her way to meet with the FBI at Police Headquarters. Eve and
Kevin try to exit and Joe stops Kevin. Joe and Kevin have a mini shrink
session in the hallway, since Kevin wants to go. (Maybe he didn't get
reinstated.) Joe reveals that he does have some temper problems and
that his father drank. Kevin congratulates him on his first session.

Down by the desk, Chris overhears Matt and another patient discussing
getting x-rays. Chris seems to find this information useful.

At Police Headquarters, Conklin is offering his condolences to Mrs.
Fawcett on the death of her son. Eve, Scott and Kevin descend and show
her the picture. Kevin advises Conklin, "Agent Conklin, shut up, listen
and watch for a change, you might actually learn something." Of course,
Kathy identifies the man in the picture as Agent Boynton, her son from a
previous marriage. The troops point out the obvious to Conklin, that
Rex and Boynton knew each other. Conklin vows to investigate. Lee
arrives with the news that they must go to the courthouse. The jury is
close to a decision.

At GH, Joe helpfully offers that "therapy is for the terminally
self-centered or the tragically lost." (Which are you, Joe?) Karen
does not seem amused.

Chris continues to eavesdrop and hears Matt tell Ellen that nothing is
wrong with his back. This certainly doesn't stop Chris who snags Matt's
file. However, Matt seems to have beaten Chris at his own game, the
file is empty.

Down at the Courthouse, Rex and Lucy arrive. Kevin and Rex swap a few
threats. Joe and Karen arrive. Lee tries to get the reading of the
verdict delayed because of all the new evidence, but the judge denies
it. In a stunning display of Port Charles justice at work, Scott is
found guilty.
