Substitute updater--Jennifer-Michelle

Be gentle, this is my first update. And can I just say that I have new respect
for the updaters. This is hard work, and certainly required me to pay more
attention to the show than I have in recent weeks.

Opens in the kitchen of Frank and Joe's.

Julie and Scott are at the kitchen table, apparently discussing legal strategy.
It is raining loudly outside. Franks's beeper goes off, he has an emergency
he need to handle.

Eve arrives and asks if she had any callsöshe was expecting her date to call.

Frank is on the porch, in the rain, and injects himself before he leaves for
work.

Ellen is with her Mom at her apartment packing and discussing (bickering) her
impeding move.

Mom: San Diego is half a world away.

Mom tells Ellen she needs roots, and wouldn't changing jobs often look bad on
her resume?

Ellen: It's time for me to move on.

The door knocks and it's Matt, wondering if it is too late for the good-bye
party.

Back at Frank's:

Julie announces her brain has stopped functioning (substitute updater refrains
from making snide comments but will add that she laughed out loud.)

Eve is on the phone to Chris, asking him when he is picking her up for their
date.

Chris asks if Scott is in the room and that is why she is acting the way she
is. But agrees to take her out anyway.

Julie: Big date?

Eve: I don't go on any other kind.

At the hospital:

A very giddy Frank sees Karen and calls out "What's up Pussycat?" Karen says
that it is a slow night.

Frank then tells Karen the story of the car accident victims he brought inöthey
were fighting when he arrived, he jumped in and threw some punches and broke it
up. Karen was not amused, told him he was still recovering and needed to take
it easy.

Frank said she was acting girlie. They talk about the pediatric circus, Joe
arrives and Frank announces he is doing his Houdini act for the kids.

Joe dismisses Frank's hyperness as gratitude for a second chance at living.

Matt asks for a chance to explain the other evening to Ellen. Mom leaves.

Matt tells Ellen she almost made a clean getaway. He asks her if they can
clear the air and tells her that this is nothing going on with Graceöshe simply
spilled Garlic Tofu on herself. He asks Ellen to talk about what her feelings
are for him.

Back in the kitchen at Frank and Joe's:

Eve is dressed in a little black dress for her date with Chris. Julie comments
on the rainstorm.

Eve: The dress looks better wet.

Chris arrives, apologies for being late and kisses Eve.

Julie and Scott wish them a good date.

Scott tells Julie that if he were on the jury he would be convinced she was
innocent.

Back at the hospital, Grace tells Frank she never liked the circusöthe clowns
scared her. Frank drops a vial, Grace picks it upöit is unlabeled and she asks
him about it. It's insulin for a relative he claims. She gives him the
standard GH speech about the temptation to self medicate in their profession.

Back at Ellen's:

Matt tells her that losing Sam must have been terrible, but would he want Ellen
to live in a cocoon? She needs to live in the present. Ellen denies living in
the past. Matt says that he can feel that she cares for him. Ellen demands to
know why it has to be something more. Matt says that because of Bobby, because
of the look on her face when she helped him, because of their kiss. He asks if
he has been fooling himself.

Ellen tells him that he has meant so many things to her, so many times.

At dinner (on a set I didn't recognize) with Chris and Eve:

Chris: I'm starting to miss Burgessöat least she didn't make us dress up like
clowns.

Tells Eve that they are supposed to be having a good time.
Eve: I didn't come here to have a good time.
Chris: Why did he dump you?
Eve: I dumped him
Chris: Even I wouldn't break up with Scott Baldwin. Going on a date with you
is like going to a wake.

Proposes to toast to end evening: Live single and prosper.

Back to Ellen's:

Matt tells Ellen that is happier than he's ever been. And kisses her. Ellen
says that she doesn't want to say or do anything wrong. Matt tells Ellen he
wants to make to her. And there is more kissing.

Julie is in the kitchen baking a cake. Frank returns home, "Where is
everyoneöit's usually like Grand Central Station here." He tells Julie that he
has been having a fantasy of her in an apron all day.

Julie: A Betty Crocker fantasy?
Frank: You are much sexier than Betty.

They kiss, she suggests going downstairs, more kissing, but that wasn't part of
his fantasy, and he picks her up and puts her on the kitchen table and opens
her blouse.

At Scott's, there is thunder and lightening and a knock on the door. There
stands Eve, drenched from the rained.

Scott: You're right. The dress looks better wet.
Eve: I swore I would never feel about another man this way.
Scott: I swore I wold never feel about another girl this way.
Eve: Then we're even.

Scott hold door for her to enter. Takes her faces in his hands and kisses.

Fades to black.
