Port Charles Update
Tuesday, June 2, 1998

Matt comes over to help Ellen get the place ready for Alice's return.
They're obviously having some fun:

Matt: Do I get a reward if I do a good job?
Ellen: Well now, that depends on your performance.
Matt: You know I'm a very hard worker.
Ellen: I'm hard to please.
Matt: Prepare to be dazzled.

Lucy is a bit tentative when she comes down to breakfast. Kevin is
obviously still angry at her for the whole Lucy-and-Victor-get-Arrested
fiasco of the night before. She wonders if this is a huge, big, angry thing
or a small "it'll pass thing." His silence gives her her answer. She asks
how long this will last. He says it depends on whether or not she's going
to tell Scott that Eve was a prostitute. She says of course she's going to
tell him--that's why she went through all this trouble. Kevin says it's
none of her business, but Lucy insists that it's her duty to warn Scott and
Serena they could be dealing with a killer. Kevin says "It's amazing how
you make the leap from lady of the night to serial killer." He insists that
only Eve has the right to tell Scott about her past. He also points out
that he heard all sorts of things about Lucy when they started getting
involved. "You did not hear that I was a *hooker*," she retorts. "There's
all kinds of ways to screw people for money," he points out. "You married
Alan Quartermaine." Lucy complains that that was a very cruel thing to say.
Kevin also asks Lucy how she felt when the media was searching through her
past during the whole tainted herbal pill situation. Lucy says that wasn't
fair because it was all Rex's fault. Kevin says that's exactly his
point--Eve's past has nothing to do with the murders. Lucy insists that the
information on Eve is relevant, but Kevin argues that this is all just part
of her self-serving agenda.

Chris wakes Eve up with a bagel. He admits that having her around as a
roommate could be a kick. She asks why he's being so nice and he answers
"Because you didn't kill me in the middle of the night." She points out
that plenty of people think he's the killer. He gets a little nervous as
she's emphasizing her points by gesturing with a big knife. Chris says he
has to go run some errands and tells Eve to work on her mood--Eve asks him
to work on picking her up some chocolate. When Chris leaves, Eve calls
Scott. He asks how her night in the on-call room was and is not happy to
hear that she is living with Chris. he wants to rent her an apartment, but
Eve says "there's a word for women who accept money in exchange for sex."
Scott argues that they've already had sex so it doesn't matter and he wants
her to take the apartment as a favor from a friend. She refuses and they
both get pissed off and hang up angry.

Ellen and Matt are fixing a door knob. Some double entendres about his
hands and skills follow. She also tells him he was poised to win the
Quartermaine residency. She talks about how she used to be in the loop, but
*not* working at GH anymore has other benefits--like being able to be in a
relationship with Matt. They kiss.

Kevin asks Victor where Lucy is and Victor asks if he's going to yell at her
some more. After Victor tries to tell him that their getting arrested was
all his fault, he tells Kevin he heard her on the phone with Scott telling
him she needed to talk to him... and then she left. Kevin is not happy and
decides to go warn Eve. He calls the hospital looking for her, but nobody
has seen her. He leaves a message that it's urgent for her to call him
right away. He also tells Victor that if Eve calls, he wants him to give
her his cell phone number and have her call right away. He says if Lucy
shows up, Victor should make her stay at the lighthouse--even if he has to
sit on her to do it! Then he goes to find Eve.

Ellen is on the phone with Dr. May, who wants her to return to GH and take
the intern program back. Matt thinks that's great, but she's concerned
because she'd be his boss again. He says he'd love to be around her all the
time. "Think of all the opportunities," he points out.

Chris comes home bearing chocolate. Eve's even more upset, because of
Scott's "fit" over their living arrangement. She tells Chris in no
uncertain terms that nothing will ever happen between her and him because
she doesn't want to lose Scott. Then she leaves to go talk to Scott.

Karen and Joe are moving Karen's stuff back into her apartment. He wants
her to continue living with him, but she says she'll just give him a key to
her place instead. They start to kiss, but Karen says they have to finish
unloading her car first. Joe says he's found his motivation. When he goes
to get more stuff, she goes upstairs (or downstairs, not sure which) to ask
Ellen how Alice is doing.

Ellen and Matt are discussing the possibility of her going back to work.
She says she wants him more than the job, but he says she can have both.
They agree not to tell anyone about their relationship. As they're kissing
on the couch (which the door ajar) Karen is walking into the hall.

Lucy goes over to see Scott. He wants to know what was so important she
couldn't tell him over the phone. She tells him to brace himself and keep
his urge to "shoot the messenger" in check. She says "It's all about Eve"
and he tells her to stop watching Bette Davis movies! (Laughed even though I
was upset at what I knew she was going to do!) He's mad about her vendetta
against Eve, but Lucy says all she wants to do is protect Serena. Scott
says he's Serena's father and he'll protect her. Lucy says he's not
thinking straight because of Eve. Right as she starts into the meat of her
story, Eve walks up to Scott's door. She can hear Lucy's voice through the
door. She hears Lucy tell Scott about meeting Tammy and how Tammy and Eve
were hookers for Enchanted. Scott doesn't believe her and says Eve isn't
even from PC. Lucy says that's just a lie in a long line of lies. Eve is
listening in tears, and as Lucy convinces Scott of the truth about Eve's
past, she walks away.

Serena comes running down the stairs saying "Hi! I saw you come up the
driveway." But when she sees Lucy, she asks what she's doing there. She
says she saw Eve a minute ago... where is she? Scott runs to the door and
looks outside. "That's just great!" he growls at Lucy, but Lucy shushes him
with a look at Serena. He smiles at Serena and shoots a murderous look at
Lucy.

The End. :)
