From: maclatch <maclatch@unbsj.ca> Subject: PC: Update, Wedenesday, 24 June 1998 Date: Thu, 25 Jun 1998 09:03:39 -0300 At the lighthouse, Kevin has been reading the morning paper. Jake is exposed as the GH killer. Kevin and Victor discuss how they both thought that each other could possibly be the killer. They apologize for thinking such thoughts. Lucy is glad to see them getting along and making up for their recent history. Kevin, however, is ticked at Lucy. The paper contains information that Eve is no longer under suspicion of the murders, as well as the information that she was formerly a call girl. Kevin thinks that Lucy owes Eve an apology. Lucy doesn't think that she does. Kevin insists -- it is her fault that Eve's past is in the paper. Lucy denies this, she didn't tell the paper. Kevin won't let her get off on a technicality, it was Lucy who gave the info to the police, and obviously it was the police who leaked the info to the media. Scott tries to explain to Serena what a call girl is. Basically, he tells her that Eve was paid to accompany men who were dateless to dances. Serena wants to know if Scott pays Eve to go out with him! He says that Eve is a doctor now, and that's how she gets her money. They go out together because they want to. Scott phones Lucy, he is mad that he's had to explain Eve's past to Serena. He pressures Lucy into apologizing to Eve. For once, Scott and Kevin agree. Lucy says that she will talk with Eve. Chris and Eve are at the hospital. Chris is happy -- he's won the Q Residency, so all is right with the world. Eve, however, is upset about her past being in the paper. What she did to help out her sister will continue to haunt her. She might have to leave town, as she doubts anyone wants a doctor who is an ex-hooker. Two insensitive orderlies think they are funny -- they ask Eve "how much?", then imply it's about food at the cafeteria. Eve tells them to go clean up some puke or something (gotta love that girl!). Lucy shows up at the hospital, and makes a Lucy-style apology. Eve lists all of the things she has done for Lucy: helping to get Rex, helping Serena, and helping to find an antidote for the poison that almost killed Lucy. Eve nails the real issue on the head -- Lucy doesn't want anyone to come between Lucy and Scott and Serena. Lucy says Eve's done her fair share to Lucy, eg. the dress, the wardrobe, etc. at the Ball. Eve counters that those were pranks, as opposed to exposing her past and trying to set her up as a murderer. Eve finishes by saying she wishes that she had never helped find the antidote for the poison, and that Lucy had died. Lucy is at the firehouse to pick Serena up for her ladybug meeting but Scott tells her that Eve had already left with Serena. Lucy is upset, as *she* is the one who takes Serena to ladybugs. Scott wants Lucy to cease and desist her feud with Eve, or he will keep Serena away from her to keep Serena out of the fray. When Lucy is alone outside the firehouse, she vows to make Eve pay. Lark calls Frank from the Juvenile Centre and he agrees to visit her. Julie, who overhears the call, is annoying as always and doesn't want Frank to go see her. And she definitely does not want Frank to consider bringing her home. At the centre, Lark wants Frank to help get her back to the Scanlon house. Frank doesn't want to help. Lark tries pleading, and when that doesn't work, she tries threatening to expose his use of the DL56 drug. Frank gets mad back -- who does she think people will believe, her or him? Frank promises to see what he can do about getting her out. Back at the hospital, Julie becomes angry when Frank tells her that he has decided to help Lark. Garcia brings Karen a copy of Jake's confession. In the confession, Jake explains how upset he became doing the research that things weren't working out. He killed Devlin with the closest instrument at hand after a confrontation about the research. He killed Grace because she found out about his murdering Devlin. Karen is going to shut down the DL56 research project. When Frank hears this, he tries to convince Karen to continue -- there still might be a need for the drug in some form. Frank is insistent, and the others look a little surprised. Julie gets a call -- all the charges against her have been dropped. That's it for Wednesday's ep... -Deb
