From: Kathy Monroe <kmmonroe@facstaff.wisc.edu> Subject: PC: Update for Thursday, July 2, 1998 Date: Thu, 02 Jul 1998 19:47:26 +0000 Hello, and welcome to the Thursday, July 2, 1998 Update for Port Charles. The Quick and Dirty: Serena repeatedly asks to get her bandages off and questions why. Scott initially soft-soaps but after advice from Kevin tells Serena that her eyes are hurt and she may not have vision initially. Scott lets Eve see Serena. Matt tells Boardman about Chris. Boardman tells Chris that the Review Board wants to speak to him. The Long and Verbose: Scott brings Dirty Kitty to Serena. Serena asks how long must she wear the bandages. Scott hedges and doesn't tell her much of anything, and says that they must wait for the doctors to give the OK. Serena asks again (die, Lucy) as she doesn't like not being able to see Dominique's star (you are pond scum, Lucy). In the hallway, Kevin asks Scott about Serena. Scott says he is uncomfortable asking for advice on how to answer Serena's questions. Kevin thinks that Scott should be honest as Serena may know he is lying, and that at this time, it is not known that Serena will not heal eventually. Kevin says that Serena should be prepared for when the bandages do come off, prepare for all possibilities, and focus on the present as the blindness may be temporary. As Serena takes her cues from Scott, Scott must be up front and positive. Kevin and Scott go back into Serena's room. The little cutie asks about her bandages again (hope every tooth in Lucy's mouth needs a root canal). Scott says that her eyes must heal, and that she might have eye damage to her corneas and have vision problems. Serena must be patient. Serena, ever the trooper, says she will try. She has more courage in her little pinkie than Lucy will ever know. Serena asks about Eve - is Eve mad? She asks Scott to have her visit and Scott says she has an emergency and can't make it. Kevin asks Scott to speak to him in the hallway. In a cute moment, Kevin asks Serena if this OK, and she says that yes, he may have him for a while. Lucy, you are not good enough to be worm food. Kevin tells Scott that Serena will sense if he is lying about Eve. Scott does not want Eve anywhere near Serena. Kevin and Scott argue about this. Kevin says that it is Serena's feelings that are important here, and that only Eve can make Serena feel better. Scott then goes to see Eve at the nurse's station. He says that he made a mistake about banning Eve and would she see Serena. Eve immediately goes to see her. In a lovely and tender scene, Kevin is chatting with Serena and says that they can play a game where she doesn't need to see - just feel. He is going to write letters on her arm and she must figure out what the letters are and what they spell. He spells out (it tickles and she giggles) "I Love" and Serena says that he is writing I Love Lucy. He says no. He is writing I Love Serena. Kevin says that Serena made him believe in love at first sight after learning of Lucy's love for her, and then seeing her, he knew it was possible. Serena makes him feel good. He likes her pictures, her shows, and likes to read to her when she spends the night. He loves her because "you are you." Serena reaches up to touch Kevin and says that she loves him too. Lucy is an earwig. Eve comes in the room with a stuffed elephant. When Serena asks where she was, she and Kevin explain about the concocted emergency. Kevin leaves and the two "girlfriends" are alone. Eve says that the name of the elephant is "Ellie" and that she will take away the "scaries." (Gee, can I have one?) Serena asks about the accident and Eve explains what happened. Serena tells her about her eye problem. Eve says she would give anything if Serena had not gotten hurt. Serena says "That's OK, it's not your fault." (I sentence Lucy to shoveling cow manure for life.) The two hug Ellie while Scott watches from the window. In non-tear-jerking action, Eve and Chris are talking when Boardman brings in new lambs for slaughter - the next group of interns. He introduces Eve and Chris and that Chris won the Quartermaine. Boardman states the Chris is a role model. <cough> Chris puffs up in an excellent Q-like fashion. Matt comes by and the group moves away a bit. Chris and Matt talk about what happened and Chris thinks it will blow over soon. Matt says that he has a long memory and will pursue finding who took the pictures. Matt then asks to talk to Boardman, who supported the reassignment of Ellen due to Matt and Ellen's luv thang. Matt tells him that he knows who took the pictures, posted them, and wants to bring this information to the board. Matt states "it was used to secure the Quartermaine." Boardman is surprised and Matt says yup, it is Chris. The interns stroll by again with Chris leading the pack and strutting before a female intern. They are asking for tips on getting by and he shares his vast knowledge. Boardman comes up to Chris and says that the Review Board wants to see him about the pictures. Chris is trying to talk his way out of it but no go. Meanwhile, Matt has moved into the elevator with a big smile on his face as the door closes. This updater apologizes for her Lucy outbursts and seeking professional help to curb her intense anger. WHACK! <gets one last bash at Lucy in this update> :-) Kathy "I also think Scott will soften toward Eve soon"
