JULIE GOES BALLISTIC AND KEVIN DOUBTS HIMSELF SOME MORE

Eve tells Chris if he thought she was inviting him to make a pass, he
needs to get out more. She wants to know what's up with the memorial.
Chris has bought a ton of party stuff for winning the Quartermaine. He
doesn't want it to go to waste, so he's going to throw a memorial party
for Jake. He figures more people will show up than if it was a party
for him or for Eve.

Kevin tells Gail that he thought that there was light at the end of the
tunnel, that the murders had been solved. Gail tells him not to blame
himself. She wants him to think about the idea that he may be confusing
his feelings about the GH murders with his guilt over the death of
Victor's mistress. He has considered that. He thinks it's time to do
something about it ö like telling the police he's responsible. Gail
thinks it's premature. They're not sure yet what really happened. Going
to the police isn't going to help. He thinks it will give the woman's
family some closure. Gail thinks he could also open old wounds without
resolving anything. He thinks that he and Victor's memories tell the
tale. He should accept what happened and deal with it. Maybe then he
could find some peace. Gail wants to know why he is so determined to
admit that he's capable of murder. He is convinced that he has it in
him. Gail doesn't agree that he has a genetic predisposition to murder
ö she's never seen any sign of it. Serial killers have no conscience.
He is just swimming in guilt over something he did when he was only
four. He jokes that maybe he's just neurotic but not a serial killer.
Gail asks if he sympathizes with those that are suffering, or does it
leave him cold? He says he wouldn't be there if he didn't feel for
them.

Frank is telling Lark that he was cut off, but that he wouldn't put up
with that, so he followed the guy into town and followed him into a
hardware store; he then smashed in his tail lights with a crowbar and
hammered a few dents in the car as well. He thought the guy was going
to cry when he saw his car! Lark warns him he could get into a fight
and really get hurt if he pulls stunts like that. She asks him about
DL56. He had just taken a partial dose. She can always tell, she
says. He wants her to stay out of it. She warns him that if she can
tell the symptoms of DL56 use, it won't be long until Joe can also.
Frank is upset ö if Joe finds out, he'd have to get off of DL56, and he
can't because it's keeping him alive. She tells him Joe would never let
him die. She wants him to quit for a while, to see what's happening to
his body. She thinks he's taking it not to stay alive, but for the way
it makes him feel. He thinks that he needs the drug, or his heart will
stop beating from the damage it has sustained. There's nothing Joe
could do to help him.

Joe and Karen are on the way to the memorial. Karen tells Joe that this
is about Jake, and that he needs to remember that, rather than focusing
on Chris's hypocrisy. Jake was there friend and deserves to be
remembered and honoured. Joe says he's not going to stay long,
regardless; he's had enough of Chris Ramsey. At the party, Chris offers
Julie something nonalcoholic, but she prefers champagne. Matt warns her
to check that nothing's been added to the glass. Julie says she doesn't
trust anyone anymore so she's very careful. Eve wants to know why she
looked at her when she said that. Julie says, "Guess". Joe and Karen
are at the door. Chris asks about Serena. Karen brought a CD that Jake
used to play in the lab. Joe and Matt congratulate Eve on getting the
Quartermaine. Karen recalls that a year ago Danielle and Jake were
celebrating their engagement; now they and Grace are dead. Julie says
you can't count on anyone. Chris says you can count on your friends,
which Julie and Matt call him on (he's not much of a friend to anyone).
Eve breaks up the argument, by asking who did the murders if Jake
didn't. Julie says what they're all thinking ö it could be one of them.

Frank and Lark show up at the memorial party. Julie makes a toast to
Frank and his new baby girl. Frank tells her she doesn't have to worry
about it ö he'll be a better dad than she ever had. Chris gives Frank a
glass of champagne, but reminds Lark she's "underage" and offers her
milk from the fridge. Julie proposes a toast to the finest bunch of
misfits with medical know-how, and to Lark, who is still trying to find
her talent, and to Chris who had the Quartermaine and then lost it, and
Matt who tried to win the Q the old-fashioned way, by sleeping with the
boss. Karen tries to take the glass of champagne away from her. Julie
makes a toast instead ö to Karen who's nerve regeneration project may
make her a zillion dollars, but who cares if Jake died along the way.
Joe says that's better than becoming a doctor to fulfill some Electra
complex. Frank says not to take this personally, it's really him she's
mad at. Julie tells him to get over himself; she did. Frank tells her
she could use a new man; when she was with him she didn't talk so much.
Lark tells Chris he knows how to give interesting parties, but Karen
says it was supposed to be a memorial. Julie wants to play "who's the
killer", and no one leaves until they figure it out. Whoever can't take
it and breaks for the door first, did it. Chris makes a joke about
Colonel Mustard in the library. Julie thinks it could have been Chris.
Then she focuses on Eve ö too bad she didn't get to make a speech at the
Nurses' Ball, thanking Bennett Devlin for boinking her and jumpstarting
her medical career. Not to mention the other dads who helped fund her
education. Eve calls Julie a malicious, spoiled brat and throws her
drink at her. Julie laughs and taunts her ö at this rate she'll never
make it to the end of the game without killing someone.

Kevin sees blood on a hospital worker. It reminds him of a day in the
past when he and Ryan were little. They are running in the woods, and
circus music is playing. He sees the knife, and himself covered in
blood, after Ryan told him to go first, and that their mother hated
him. Kevin as an adult turns to leave, but he is called back by the
image of Ryan in a window. Ryan tells him he can run but he can't
hide. Kevin wants to know what he's doing there. Ryan says he's
getting stronger, he can show up anytime, anywhere. Kevin wants to know
what he wants. Ryan says it's a secret, and that he's getting warmer,
that he's going to figure it out soon. Dr. May stops him and asks him
if it's OK. She wants a lift to Jake's memorial. He's going but later,
he has to do some things first. She's having car trouble (the
transmission or the alternator or...). He tells her that her character
had car trouble in the book before she gets killed. She says she's been
having trouble for weeks. He offers to take her to the memorial, and
that he would feel a lot better. She accepts. Ryan tells him goodbye.

At the party, Julie is still ranting that the killer could be in the
room. Maybe Joe, he's a hothead and wouldn't have like what Bennett did
to his girlfriend. Joe was also there when Julie was drugged. But hey,
lots of people had motives. Eve was booted out of the intern program by
her father. Eve says she was going to sue him, he wasn't going to screw
up her life. She didn't need to kill him. Julie brings up Lucy's
suffocating dress. Eve thinks they should all kill Julie and swear each
other to secrecy. Julie wants to keep pushing buttons. She goes after
Lark next. Lark calls her mean and jealous. Frank wants to shine the
spotlight on her. Why were her fingerprints on her father's murder
weapon? Why did Victor say she was a murderer? Julie counters these.
Matt chimes in with a bet on Chris. There's evidence for him as well
(notebook, stethoscope, arguing with Jake). Lark is upset because
they're dancing and drinking on his grave. Karen agrees. Joe and Karen
go to leave, but Frank tries to stop them. Outside, Karen and Joe
decide to go to Karen's to forget what happened. As the elevator opens,
they see Dr. May lying on its floor, and Kevin is squatting beside her.
