Hi Campers! Here's Thursday's Daily Update!!!!
The action starts with Chris on the phone to his pharmaceutical buddies. He wants out of the DL-56 project, due to test results (we all know that it's because Frank scared the pants off him!). Money isn't the issue, he says. (No--the issue is Frank rearranging his face!!) Anyway, he sets up a meeting to discuss a buy out and says "So long, Frank" as he hangs up the phone.
Back at Chez Scanlon, Frank's going ballistic as he tears up the kitchen. "You're trying to find the DL-56 you hid!" Lark accuses as he throws a cereal box at her. "No, I'm just trying to find the prize in the box!!" he hisses. "It was hard enough losing my mom. I'm not going to lose you!" Lark says as she begs him to get help. "Just help me find it!" Frank shouts as he totally trashes the place. "Help you find what?" Courtney asks as she walks in. (That woman has a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time!) One thing leads to another and then it comes out that Neil's Cancer is in remission and he's moved in. "What is this-Motel 6?" Frank asks.
After Courtney helps Neil move in, she comes down the stairs and sees Frank. "Your brother's a sweetheart," she tells him, but Frank's heard it all before. "I didn't realize you had your hooks in so deep," Frank counters. "Play nice, we're roommates!" Courtney simpers, as she slaps Frank on the butt.
Joe shows Neil his old room, and the little boy is thrilled to see Joe's old computer there. "It's all yours," Joe tells him and even gives him bed-jumping lessons. "Just trying to teach him the basics of being a kid," he tells Courtney.
Joe and Frank are talking about the addition of another border. "All I see is a little boy with cancer who needs a roof," Joe tells his brother, who's a bit more cynical. "All I see is a two-faced golddigger who dumped you when she thought you were a grease monkey with too much hair, but moved herself and her kid in when she saw he was an up and coming doctor with the potential of a six-figure income!" Frank shouts. "What are you, the second coming of Mother Theresa? What would Karen think?" he adds. "What would Karen think? She thinks this Yankees poster would look really cool in Neil's room!" Karen says as she walks in. Joe leaves when Courtney comes down the stairs and asks him for help closing a window.
"It's happening already!" Frank fumes as he leaves. Karen says she's not worried and the fact that Joe has taken Neil in makes her love him even more.
After Joe closes the window (nice try, Courtney!)Neil tells his mom that he loves the room and Dr. Joe and wishes that there was something nice that he could do for him. "Why don't you ask him to show you his baseball card collection? It would mean more coming from you than it would from me," Courtney says.
Meanwhile, Frank is eating a nice heaping helping of crow. He's groveling in front of Chris at the hospital and one gets the impression that he would say and do anything for DL-56. "You need me for your research," Frank says, trying to play what few trump cards he has. "I've got an idea. Take 2 asprin and don't call me in the morning!" Ramsey counters back. Frank goes for him, and stops himself just in time.
Karen runs into Courtney at the Scanlon's house, who thanks her for being understanding about Joe's ex-girlfriend living with him. She tells Karen that she's looking for another place and is checking out the Real Estate section. "Let me help you!!" Ms. Wexler says, no fool she!
Joe is giving Neil computer lessons, helping him to find Michael Jordan sites on the internet. He tells Neil that he wasn't into Basketball when he was 7, but was totally into the New York Yankees and Reggie Jackson. Neil shyly asks him if he can see his Baseball cards. Joe's flattered!
Karen runs into Lark in the kitchen. "I'm sorry about your Mom. Want a fruit smoothie?" she asks her. Lark appreciates the concern and tries to pump her about her DL-56 data. Lark suggests that she destroy her notes. Karen says it's a great idea. (Now why didn't she think about that in the first place????) Courtney all of a sudden has a flash back and remembers the first time she saw Frank trashing the place for DL-56. She's starting to put the pieces together.
Meanwhile, our favorite junkie is trying to score. (where's Alan Quatermain when we need him???) Frank is visiting his old dealer at the Port Charles jail, who tells him that he can't help him. He's detroyed anything he had on DL-56, but suggests that drug companies would want this drug if it packed that much of a punch. "Why didn't I think of that?" Frank says, as he runs out of the room.
Back to sanity (or some semblance of it!!) Neil runs into the kitchen and shows Courtney Joe's Reggie Jackson Baseball card as Joe promises to take him to a game. As Karen leaves to fix the hot dogs, he turns to Courtney and says "She's so great with kids!" "So are you!" Courtney says, as she looks like she wants to throw up.
Frank finally has his ace in the hole. He tells Chris that he'll threaten a law suit against the Pharmaceutical companies, if Chris doesn't play ball and give him the drug. "You're bluffing," Chris states. "What have I got to lose?" Frank shoots back. Frank wants a 2-week supply and the formula, but Chris says no to the formula, and he'll administer the drug. "It looks like we have to trust each other," Frank says.
Courtney is at Neil's computer. No, she's not looking up Michael Jordan sites, but wants to get the goods on DL-56. The show ends as she pulls up Dr. Devlin's research...........
