Daily Updates
From: mtczajka@aol.com (MTCzajka) Subject: PC: Thursday 10/1 Update Date: 02 Oct 1998 04:38:45 GMT Since Sunday, I've been in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Mexico and have just watched (or FF'ed) over 4 days of GH and PC, so if I stray away from just Thursdays PC in this update, blame my employer. Julie and Eve snipe at each other from adjoining cells. Julie cruelly brings up Scott's not being there. (I've mentioned it before but I have to say it again - Julie is much better as a bitch than she was as a good girl!) Julie blames Scott for her being there and accuses Eve and Scott of planting the voice device. Eve brings up that no one has died since Julie's been in jail. Julie claims that's because Eve is lying low and won't get out of jail alive. Later, Eve taunts Julie while she is looking through a notebook. She tells her she'll need a huge loophole. Julie inexplicably says that Eve probably knows a lot about law from her days as a hooker and brings up that Eve's mother did time. Eve says her mother was defending herself against an attacker. Julie asks if she stuck a pen in him. Eve tells Julie that Bennett was disappointed in Julie and thought that Julie wasn't as good as Buddy. In an extremely low blow, she asks if that's why Julie killed Buddy, to knock off the competition. Julie loses it and yells at Eve to shut her mouth, accidentally tossing the pen into Eve's cell. Eve picks it up and mentions how odd it was that Bennett gave both his lover and his daughter the same gift. Julie grabs Eve's hand and while fighting, Julie is stabbed by the pen. She calls for the guard and yells at Eve that she stabbed her, while Eve holds the pen and looks horrified. The guards arrive, one takes the pen, the other leads Julie out. For some reason, they are both wearing latex gloves - maybe all jail guards wear them?? Kevin goes to Gail's and expresses his sympathy - Gail does the same. He asks about Serena. Gail tells him that she is very withdrawn. (This was a very strange scene because the GH world is a day ahead of the PC world.) Kevin explains that he wanted to feel numb about Lucy by now, but every thing inside just aches. Kevin asks if there was a positive ID on the bodies. She says no, but points out the circumstantial evidence that the bodies were Scott and Lucy. Kevin diagnoses himself as being in the first stage of grief - denial. Gail says it can take years to get over a loss and you start to dream about them. Kevin is looking forward to seeing Lucy - even if only in a dream. But Gail says waking up and realizing it was just a dream is a shock. They realize that all their education doesn't help them accept things. Kevin talks about how infuriating Lucy could be but he loved her. Gail says she couldn't have loved Scott more if he had been her natural child. (Updater's rant: I hate that term - it implies that adoptive children are unnatural - I prefer biological, I now return you to the update.) She talks about how Scott could be such a devil and get Lee so mad. Kevin laughingly tells her that he used to get mad at Scott too when Scott first came to town and lived with him and Lucy. They talk about Scott and Lucy's unique type of friendship and Kevin correctly guesses that where ever they are, they are probably still going at it. Serena and Karen arrive home from the park. Kevin tells her he's sorry about her daddy and they hug. Serena says she also misses Lucy. She tells Gail she wants to pick out stuff to put in Lucy's and Daddy's coffin. She wants to give Scott her ring and Dirty Kitty. She wants to give Lucy the knitted sweater that Lucy had made for Serena while she was pregnant. Later, Serena is upstairs dictating messages to Scott and Lucy - Karen wonders if it's healthy. Kevin thinks it is. Suddenly, Gail on the phone, squeals with delight - the dental records don't match - the bodies aren't Lucy and Scott's!!! Karen wants to head to Florida, but Gail says they can't - a hurricane is on the way. Meanwhile, Lucy is aching too - but from hunger. Scott and Lucy look about the house and find a storage trunk. Scott drags Lucy around the room looking for something to break open the trunk with. He finds an ax and starts hitting the trunk and venting his anger at the situation. The box is full of empty cans and a map in Spanish. Scott puts it in his pocket. Lucy says things could be worse, Scott thinks things can't get any worse. It starts thundering and raining - the rain leaks through the roof. Scott decides to use the ax to break apart the handcuffs. Lucy worries that he'll miss - but Scott says then one of them will just bleed to death. For some reason, Lucy isn't reassured, but Scott is able to cut through the chain. They split up to search the house. They go to search the pantry and kitchen, making me wonder why they didn't search for food in those places first. Lucy finds cans in the kitchen, including one of applesauce to Scott's delight. She mentions some guns and knifes and nets she also found. Scott figures they belong to alligator poachers, but they'll worry about that after they eat. After eating, Lucy tells Scott it looks like things are finally going their way. Just then a shutter blows open - frightening Lucy. Scott says it's just the wind, but Lucy realizes that it's much worse. They stare out of a broken window at the approaching storm.
