And now for the full update...

PORT CHARLES POLICE DEPARTMENT

Lark visits Julie. They are sickeningly nice to each other. Lark
offers Julie her good luck charm -- the necklace her mom gave her --
to keep until the verdict comes in. Lee comes in and tells them that
the jury has reached a verdict. Julie tells Lark to call Frank and
have him meet them at the courthouse. Lark gives Julie a hug.

SCANLON LIVING ROOM

Neil is home due to a "teachers holiday" and is looking for action.
Courtney suggests that Joe could take him to a movie. Joe says he
can't because he is on his way to the courthouse. Courtney sends Neil
off to play with some kid next door. With Neil gone, Joe says he
wishes he could spend the whole day with Neil, says he wants to tell
him...

"Joe," Courtney says, "Neil will find out you're his father when
everyone is ready." She thanks Joe for not telling Karen yet.

Karen comes floating down the stairs -- she had spent the night with
Joe. Courtney looks away, makes a not-happy face, then turns to greet
Karen with a friendly smile. Joe and Karen dash off to the courthouse.
Courtney looks grumpy as she watches them go.

HOSPITAL

Chris gives Frank some DL-56 and tells him to go shoot up elsewhere.
Frank comments that he can't get any privacy for shooting up at home
because Courtney is always there. Chris salivates at the mention of
Courtney's name, prompting Frank to warn Chris to stay away from her.
Chris wonders if there is something going on between those two.

Eve gets off the elevator at the sixth floor, only to be ambushed by
a TV news crew who want her to comment on the possibility of Julie
getting off because Eve is now under suspicion. Eve tells them to
get lost or she'll call security. They back off. Eve receives a
phone call from Kevin, who asks if she wants to go to the courthouse
with him to hear the verdict. Eve declines.

SCANLON LIVING ROOM

Frank arrives home, dripping wet from the rain. The phone is ringing
as he enters; it is Lark, telling him to come to the courthouse for
the verdict. He tells her he'll be right there.

Courtney comes slinking into the room, clad in nothing but a towel,
and gives Frank a predatory once-over glance.

Frank notices her. "Expecting company?" he asks, eying her attire
(or lack thereof).

"I thought everyone was at the trial. I really didn't know who came
home."

"Well, judging from the outfit, I'll bet you were hoping it was Joe."

"Jealous?" Courtney taunts. She tells Frank that Karen spent the
night with Joe and the two of them left together.

"Jealous?" Frank taunts back. Courtney's expression tells him he's
right. "He shoots, he scores!" he gloats. "Why don't you forget
about it? Joe loves Karen."

"Why in the world would I be jealous of Karen? I'm really not into
lost causes."

"So I guess that means you were hanging around in that towel waiting
for me," Frank leers.

Courtney smirks. "I could be wearing a suit of armor. It doesn't
take more than a handshake and a smile to get you going, Frank."

"That's going to change if Julie comes home," Frank says, but
nonetheless he is speaking in a low sexy voice instead of a
good-boy-scout voice.

"She's not home yet," Courtney reminds him, stroking his face.

Frank finds a modicum of self-control and mentions that the verdict is
in and he has to go. He heads toward the door, but Courtney is not
about to be turned down when she is turned on.

"Frank," she says, getting his attention. She opens her towel.
"It could be a while before they read the verdict."

Frank drops his keys, takes off his coat, and succumbs to Courtney's
charms.

COURTHOUSE

Lucy and Scott arrive together, Lucy carrying her duck-handled
umbrella. Scott stops to make a call to check on Serena. Lucy is
about to go into the courtroom alone when Kevin arrives. They chat
briefly, pleasantly, about the press gauntlet and about Serena's
eyesight being restored. Then Scott catches up with Lucy and asks
her if she's ready to go inside for the decision. Kevin seems
displeased, probably because he didn't realize Lucy was there with
Scott.

"Well," Kevin says, "I guess I shouldn't be surprised." He walks away.

FRANK'S BEDROOM

Frank has Courtney pinned beneath him on his bed, and they swap spit.

"Do you feel this?" Courtney asks breathlessly.

"I was feeling something," Frank admits.

"We're on a mattress," Courtney says as Frank nuzzles her. She is
amused that they are doing it on a bed instead of a couch or kitchen
table or some such. "So this is what it's like to make love to Frank
Scanlon in a bed. Can we just savor the moment? This is something I
really want to remember."

"Oh, no doubt this will be an experience you will never forget," Frank
boasts. Courtney cracks up, and Frank jokes, "That was my best line."

"Save those for Julie," Courtney tells him.

They continue their love-making, ignoring the ringing telephone. The
answering machine picks up. Chris leaves a message for Courtney,
saying he wants to get together for a cup of coffee, lunch, leaf-
peeping, miniature golf, whatever.

COURTROOM

The audience gathers in the courtroom as Lucy, Scott, Joe, Karen,
Kevin, Lark, Ellen, and Matt take their seats. Karen notices that Joe
is biting his nails and asks if he is worrying about Neil. A guard
brings Julie in. Julie asks Lark if she called Frank; Lark says yes.
Judge Young enters, then the jury is brought in.

The verdict is not guilty on all counts. Julie is free. There is
much merriment among the audience in the courtroom. Julie says,
"I am going to Disneyworld!"

Kevin and Garcia are more sober about this. They discuss what this
outcome means: that there is still a killer out there. Garcia says
he has an officer notifying everyone in Kevin's book to be especially
cautious. Kevin says, "I came here today looking for some sort of
closure. Instead we are right back where we started."

Scott and Lucy are now out in the hallway. D.A. Pierson comes out of
the courtroom in a bad mood. He takes it out on Scott, upbraiding him
for his part in covering up evidence and for lying under deposition.
Pierson threatens to have Scott disbarred.

Just as Julie and her throng are emerging from the courtroom, Frank
arrives. He blames his tardiness on the rain. Julie is too happy to
care. She just wants him to shut up and kiss her. Frank obliges
guiltily.

FRANK'S BEDROOM

Courtney is alone in Frank's bed watching TV. An announcer gives the
news of Julie's not-guilty verdict. Courtney is not pleased.

COURTHOUSE

Matt, Ellen, Joe, and Karen wonder who could be the murderer, since it
surely couldn't be Julie 'cause the jury found her not guilty.

HOSPITAL

Eve is again accosted by the TV news crew. She again tells them to
get lost but the reporter keeps pushing her for a response. Chris
shows up and puts himself between Eve and the reporter, telling the
guy to leave. The reporter asks him if his and Eve's alibi was a
sham. Chris calls for security. A guard shows up and escorts the
news crew away. Chris and Eve talk about what the outcome of Julie's
trial means. Eve is certain she is going to be "America's Most
Wanted." Garcia emerges from the elevator. ""Oh great," Eve says.
"Here comes Elliot Ness now to collect his prize."

Garcia informs Eve that she is now the prime suspect, that the D.A. is
considering pressing charges, and that they are just waiting till they
have everything airtight. Eve proclaims her innocence.

SCANLON LIVING ROOM

Julie and her entourage come home to find that the living room has
been festively decorated for her homecoming. They wonder who did all
this until Courtney emerges from the kitchen with a cake.

"Courtney, you're amazing," Julie says, hugging Courtney while Frank
looks on guiltily.

Courtney seems to think that Frank and Julie should have some time
alone, so she prompts Lark, Karen, and Joe to follow her into the
kitchen. Julie immediately pounces on Frank, saying most of all she
missed his bed. She drags Frank upstairs. Frank is not nearly as
enthusiastic as he was earlier with Courtney.

HOSPITAL

On their way to visit Serena, Lucy tells Scott she is concerned about
D.A. Pierson's threat. Scott says he doesn't really care one way or
the other about what Pierson does, because Serena is the only thing
that matters to him.

SCANLON HOUSE

Downstairs, Joe notices that Courtney is missing one of her earrings.
Upstairs, Frank and Julie are making out on Frank's bed. Frank sees
Courtney's earring on his bedspread right next to Julie's head. He
manages to discreetly grab it without Julie noticing.
