From: mtczajka@aol.com (MTCzajka) Subject: PC: Thurday 10/22 update Date: 22 Oct 1998 17:10:48 GMT Serena and Scott prepares to leave the hospital. She says goodbye sadly to a girl there with Cystic Fibrosis, and hopes she'll be going home soon too. Scott tells her it's okay to be happy that she can see and leave the hospital. He tells her when they leave and close the door to the room, they will be leaving all the bad stuff in there. Courtney is getting Neil ready for a party for Serena. He tells her that he invited his Dad and is excited when John arrives. Frank comes in and is testy, Neil and John leave happily, Courtney follows, not so happy. Julie comes down and Frank tells her about the little family. Julie thinks it's good they are together - Frank says he can recognize a Bad Dad from his coaching little league days. Julie wants sex and they head back upstairs. After, Julie is eating ice cream and happy with his two favourite things - sex and ice cream. Frank gets up to turn on the TV and sees the paper with a letter from the prosecutor who still thinks Julie is guilty. She doesn't care because "the jury found her not guilty" and she "can't be tried twice". The wording gives me hope that she is guilty since she never mentions innocence. Kevin arrives at Serena's empty hospital room with a gift. Eve comes by and tells him she went home with Scott. They mention that the GH killer is still loose, then decide to think about happier things - Serena's sight. Neither one is going to the party, Kevin says he doesn't want the tension between him and Lucy to spoil things. They go for coffee. Kevin admits that he likes variety in his obsessions and goes back and forth between thinking about Scott/Lucy and the murders. Thinking of Scott is too painful for Eve, so she wants to think about the murders. Kevin feels that there is something in the book that he's missing and the killer won't be caught until he figures it out. Kevin asks if he wrote everything he knows and thinks about the murders - would she read it over? She'd be happy to. Everyone (almost) is at the party at the firehouse to celebrate Serena's sight. With Hansen Mmmbopping in the background, Serena is looking forward to to having to wear her glasses. Even the rumour that Posh Spice has a pair doesn't make her want to keep them. She notices that Eve and Kevin aren't there - Lucy says Eve is probably very busy at the hospital. Courtney, Neil, and John arrive. There are a bunch of little conversations: Lee feels bad about what he did to Scott and offers to defend him from any charges stemming from his testimony. Scott accepts. Karen and Joe confront John about not coming to see Neil after Karen called him. John says he didn't come because he didn't want to upset Neil, and he regrets not coming earlier. Scott flirts with Lucy while she's cutting the cake. Neil and Serena are playing a board game and are getting excited - Courtney tells Neil to calm down a little, so John tells her to quit babying him. Joe pulls him aside and tells him to leave Courtney alone. John guesses to Karen that Joe and Courtney are dating. She fills him in on the relationship structure and Joe and Courtney's past of about 8 years ago. John muses that that was right before they married and flashes back to Courtney telling him that he isn't Neil's biological father. He also wonders about Courtney bringing Neil to the hospital where her ex works and then moving into his house. He walks away, leaving Karen looking a bit anxious. Lee and Gail flirt in the kitchen (must be something about the room!) They talk about Scott being a good father, and Lee's feeling bad about the court- room scene. She mentions falling in love with him "about 20 years ago". They decide to take off and find other activities. Back at the Scanlon house, Courtney dismisses John - he leaves. Courtney goes upstairs. Karen and Julie defend having John in Neil's life - the Scanlons disagree. Karen points out that what's important is what Neil wants - they have to be objective. Joe snaps that he can't be objective when it comes to Neil. Lucy is doing dishes and says she doesn't want the night to end. Serena wants her to stay for a sleepover. Scott is momentarily hesitant, but agrees. So does Lucy - Serena is very excited.
