Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 15-Dec-1998

First of all I have a few disclaimers - (1) If you are a Kevin/Lucy fan and/or a Scott/eve fan this was a great show, if not you might want to pass on this update 'cause it was written by an ecstatic Kevin and Lucy fan (forever and ever amen!). (2) I had a wisdom tooth pulled today, complete with laughing gas so I claim no responsibility whatsoever for this update - or it's contents or its strange sense of humor (cause normally I have my feet so planted on the ground LOL) -

Okay - the malls at PC are once again empty as the BLue Flu continues it's terroristic reign. Meanwhile, a wish comes true for Frank as Eve "paddles" him. Okay, it's the serious kind of paddling - to get his heart started again. As the ER room waits with baited breath (as we also do at home) the first time doesn't work and he has to be repaddled. This time though it's a go. (Everyone can breathe now). Lark insists Frankie will die without DL-56, Karen is worried about the effects of the drug on top of the tainted batch Frankie already has "invested" in himself.

Lucy awakes - untubed - and tries to get a drink of water. Scott awakes from his chair and informs her the reason she feels so dry is because of the tube. Lucy is obviously burning up with fever. Scott gets Lucy some water - but it's "Doc" Lucy thanks. As Scott listens stunned (and I listen happily) Lucy tells "Doc" that she always knew it was only a matter of time before he forgave her and they were back together (and so true).

Matt informs Karen, Kevin and Lark that he had to phone Mario's wife to tell her of Mario's death. Lark, who apparently has become some kind of medical expert during the vast amount of time she spends in the hospital, aruges with Karen about the pros and cons of supplying Frank with more DL-56. Kevin listens in with amazing unpinheadishness concern.

Everyone agrees DL-56 is desperately needed, Lark confirms there is none at Hotel 56 - uh - the Scanlons as Frank has torn the house up on about a zillion occasions looking for another fix. Karen no longer has the formula. In fact, she even deleted the computer files she stored DL-56 information in. Kevin comes to the brilliant conclusion that it is Victor they need (duh) - Victor the computer wiz very well may be able to find the deleted files.

And finally, after it seems an eternity, we get to see Victor again (I tell you it was a very good show!). Victor is with mary and she is worried about Frank. She shares with Victor the news that she is a grandmother and that Neil has been kidnapped. Victor wants to share Mary's burdens (ahhh - isn't there a way to get replicas of this guy made? I would buy one in a heartbeat). The phone rings, Victor gets it and hands it to Mary (ahhh again). When asked about Frank, Kevin fudges that he is holding his own. Kevin asks Victor to go file hunting in Baldwin Labatory - Victor happily goes, glad to be of help (and yet ahhh again) and Mary insists on tagging along (during which time Victor gets her coat, the door etc - you know the drill - ahhhh).

Scott wants to get a nurse but Lucy insists that "Kevin" stays. SHe asks him to never leave her again , wants to get married ASAP and have a baby right away (pretty much all of this is on my wish list also - but for me not Lucy - just kidding). She then goes on to tell "Kevin"how much she misses the Lighthouse. How happy she is they are back together and that he has forgiven her. Scott insists he's Scott - getting worried and confused but to his great credit still taking care of Lucy.

Karen wonders why Matt isn't exhausted, but Matt replies he is running on fear (and I have to take this moment to report my great sorrow in no Matt/Ellen scenes today - I guess TPTB want to give us good things in small doses so we won't get too overexcited.) Matt offers to help Karen in anyway possible. And, supporting my theory that brain cells multiply rapidly in PC (case in pt Garcia who is always much smarter on this side of town). The ADC man is actually helpful and effecient. Will wonders never cease?

Victor explains hard drive principles to Karen, who inreturn explains the history of DL-56 (beginning with Lucy's poisoning by Rex) to him. Karen also fudges about Frank's condition to Mary. Scott goes looking for help and finds Eve He informs her that Lucy is hallucinating.

Lucy recognizes Eve and doesn't want her to come between Kevin and herself again. Eve, being incredibly gracious, promises to leave after she apologizes to Lucy - and quite sincerely I might add (I tell you - great show) for all the trouble she has caused Lucy. Lucy asks Eve if she is there to steal Kevin again, Eve insists she is not. Lucy insists that "Doc" take her temperature. Scott does, as Lucy tells Eve that Eve couldn't come between her and Kevin - because what they have is true love (amen). Lucy's temperature is 104 degrees. Lucy says that KEvin came back to her because he loved her. Eve tells Lucy she is right, while glancing concernedly over at Scott. Scott nobly continues to take care of Lucy, although he is in obvious pain (I have always said the guy is a true prince among men). Eve is visibly upset.

The files are fuzzy and Victor explains they will not be as much help as he hoped. Karen has writtendown some of the ingredients and guessed at others.

Eve tells Scott not to take to heart what Lucy has been saying - that she is delirious. Scott replies that Eve is a good egg - "scrambled or overeasy?" Eve cracks. Eve is returning a favor she owes Lucy - the ele vator incident. Scott sincerely tells Eve that she is terrific and he does care about her. It's just - he and Lucy have a history. Eve understands, but just can't hear that now. Lucy overhears them - and thinks they are discussing Scott. She has one more, very important, thing to tell Kevin - she apoligizes to him about Scott - says she is ashamed Kevin found her with Scott - that she would change it if she could cause Kevin is the man she wants to spend her whole life with. Lucy asks Kevin for forgiveness. And in the most unselfish way I have ever witnessed - Scott gives it to her. Eve is in tears (and as I am - and it's not just because the laughing gas is wearing off).

Adc guy visits wonder Kevin (and NOT as in wonder twin) who is tired, but still not obviously affected with the virus. ADC guy would still like to know the secret of KEvin's success. Kevin stands, then falters, and then faints - right on the cold, hard floor. He is burning up with fever (and yes I am tahe first in line to take care of "Doc")
