Port Charles Update for Friday, 18-Dec-1998

Due to the fact that approximately the first 20 minutes of PC were pre-empted today, this is a very abbreviated update.
The show opened with Chris in Lucy's hospital room. How he ended up there, I would love to know. Scott is grabbing him, shaking him, & screaming at him to just look at what he's done & how he's hurt people. You can tell Chris is very sick, & not really coherent. Scott tells Chris he'd love to throw him off the roof. Chris tells Scott he was just trying to help people. Then, Chris has a seizure.
Lucy comes to, & tells Scott to help Chris. Scott gets help. Someone, a nurse or dr. from ADC, perhaps, gives Chris an injection of diazepam. Within seconds, the seizure is over. Chris says no matter what Scott thinks, he mever meant to hurt anyone. They take him away - back to his room, I suppose. Lucy asks Scott what's going on. Scott tells her there's a bad flu epidemic, everyone's sick. Lucy asks if Kevin's sick. Scott tells her that Kevin is sick.
Meanwhile, in Greece, Joe is giving money to a boy. He wants the boy to play ball with Neil. Neil's Papoo agrees to let him play ball with the boy. Of course, the bodyguards are watching. From what Joe says, apparently there is a message for Neil written on the ball. The ball falls into the gutter. I guess we'll never know what it says.
Karen, Matt, & Eve have come up with a vaccine for the killer flu virus. It was a lot of scientific gobbledygook, but I think what they said is the mice injected with a mixture of Frank's antibodies, plus DL-56, recovered from the virus & didn't show aggression. Seth, from ADC says they will need FDA approval which could take several weeks. They can't just test it on animals, there have to be human test subjects. Karen volunteers for the job.
