What a great day! Freddie the Ferret has been located - the year of the Ferret continues. What a relief! Oops - I gave away the most important part of the episode right at the beginning - shame on me.

Okay - in every other place in the world it is the 28th of Dec - but in Port Charles where time has no meaning - heck they bravely defy the limitations of time - it is Dec 24th - Christmas Eve. But all is not jolly - in fact far from it.

We begin the episode with Joe telling Courtney there is no intelligent life on the island - oops I meant anyone else on the island. Really. That was what I meant. Courtney - in her best pseudofarmer tradition
claims they can just "live off the land" Yeah right, this coming from someone who has probably never even touched dirt in her lifetime. Karen informs Frank that his withdrawal is going swell and the bloodtests are good but Frank turns into Frankenstein mode and threatens to tear up her apartment if Karen doesn't become a better drug dealer.

Karen - and this is the smart Karen we'll get into the notsoswift Karen later - refuses to be intimidated by Frankie's Incredible Hulk routine. This so damages his little ego that he turns into a bowl of quivering jello. Karen offers Frank a couple of pain pills and then - and this is that notsoswift Karen - leaves the medicine bag with Frank as she goes elsewhere. Frank looks like a little boy all alone in a candy store.

Courtney is reminded of the beach she and Joe spent their last night on - and then we are "treated" to a flashback of that same night with Joe declaring undying love to Courtney. I'm sure the sick feeling in my stomach is from too much chocolate. Joe reminds Courtney that the past is the past - wisdom personified.

Just when I was getting very very worried that I was doomed to write about the most uninteresting episode of the year - Lucy saves the day by exchanging a few words with Audrey about being released and looking well. Lucy has been to see Felecia and Mac (I just love how they drop in this nuggets to pretend Lucy and Kevin still live in the same town as General Hospital - we know those elves are still keeping the two towns seperate). Scott arrives and Lucy wonders if he has heard any news.

Julie tells Kevin!!!! (I think it is a crime to wait more than 10 minutes of an episode to show Kevin - or it should be anyway) that writing is much harder than she originally thought (that is if she is still capable of original thoughts). Julie reminds Kevy that he still has the best for last - writing Eve's demise. Cooper has the perfect description of Bennett - "He took things too much to heart" (anyone else get the feeling that Ryan and Cooper would be best buds?). Julie laughs but Kevin is unamu
sed and asks for peace and quiet to do his writing.
Cooper and Julie leave the room warning that they will be watching on the survelliance monitor (which was apparently MIA when Kevin and Eve were searching for a telephone jack or trying to deprogram Julie).

Kevin and Eve pat themselves on the back for their mutual brilliance (no comment). Kevin quickly hooks up the computer before Cooper and Julie have time to make it to the monitor. They try to think of email addresses and come up with Chris's (Big Bucks LOL - in his dreams - those dreams that don't center around me of course) Victors and Serena's (applesauce) tho Kevy isn't sure Victor will take time out of romancing to check his email. Kevin informs Eve that he remembers, from the Rex days, that the room isn't wired for sound. He tries to log into the PCPD website (I'm sure that's a hoot - it probably comes up to a big picture of Taggart.)

Karen is getting into the Christmas spirit by putting up the tree but Frank is Mr. Scrooge and can't understand what Karen has to be merry about. Karen lost too many Christmases as a kid and has vowed to lose no more. Karen tells Frank to shove the tree branch - into the slot of the base. Karen then agains - none too brightly - leaves the room and this time Frank pockets the pain pills. Frankie is gonna have a Fuzzy Little Christmas.

Joe - manly man that he is - has built a leanto thingy. Courtney tells Joe about Neil's Christmases in Greece and how Neil has always reminded her of him. Awwwww - not. Joe plans to make up for lost time. Courtney is feeling dispirited but Joe is still upbeat.

Gail and Lee bring Serena to see Lucy and Scott for a warm holiday greeting. Lucy asks Gail about Julie and her favorite haunts but Gail can't help. She does point Lucy into the direction of Frank. Eve wishes she was doing anything else on Christmas Eve (duh) and doubts if few people are checking their emails. Cooper wants Kevin to read what he has written so far. Kevin stares at the blank screen and then begins making up a story about a little girl lost and the man who manipulated her. Cooper wants Kevin to print the story so he can edit it.

We then have A Great Escape Commercial starring our rascally rascal Scott who states that he is stubborn, and trouble and doesn't care and though many women have tried none have changed him - or ever will. Amen.

Joe makes Courtney a Christmas tree with olives for ornaments. She thanks him by trying to eat the decorations. Joe and Courtney stargaze. Karen remembers putting the star on top of the tree with JOe last year. In order to bypass the mushy moment Frank volunteers to feed the ferret! (Freddie found at last - am I ever relieved.) He is interrupted though by Scott and Lucy who tell them of the great kidnapping saga. Frank wants to find Julie before she hurts his baby (Frankie here is a tip - look up delusional in the dictionary.) He leaves with them, leaving Karen to stay with Serena. Karen finally realizes that leaving her medical bag lying around wasn't her most Einsteinish moment and looks in vain for the pain pills.

Kevin swears the screen went blank but Cooper is willing to give him his Christmas present anyway. It's a poster of those that were killed by the Bonnie and Clyde duo and those that are next - Victor, Lucy, Scott, Kevin and Eve. Cooper is in the giving spirit - he gave to Jake, Dr. May, Devlin, Grace and John and now he is ready to give to the rest.

THE END

And happy New Year everyone!
