Since I enjoyed writing my last update as a class session I will again proceed to do so. This time, no names will be changed to protect the innocent since there isn’t an innocent sole on this show.

Welcome class. This is Unethical Behavior 101. Please check your schedule sheet to make sure you are in the correct class.

Good. Everybody ready. OK lets begin. Trust is the foundation of any relationship. Be it parent-child, friend-friend, husband-wife, or doctor-patient. Today we will be examining breeches of all these kinds of trust.

We open our show with Courtney and Frank discussing their plan to steal money from Chris. It is important to note that F&C obtained the information they are using to try and rob Chris from an illegal wire tap (Bonus points for any student who correctly identifies the number of unethical actions we will see in this episode). Frank announces that he has given a bum $5 to make an exchange with an agent for Chris. The plan is to give the man a fake package in exchange for money (Note: Any of you in Psych 101 might want to ask your professor why Courtney gets so stimulated at the thought of thievery). Chris is on to the scheme (although not quite certain yet who’s scheme it is).

Chris is behind some bushes going over his end with his PI. Just make the exchange of the briefcase (which has no money in it) and leave. Chris will do the rest. Unfortunately Chris is not experienced as an undercover agent and he and Frank exchange glances. Frank tells Courtney to come up with a lie to cover them and sets off to stall Chris.

Cut to Kevin and Eve at the hospital cafeteria (I didn’t realize there was a hospital in this show). Eve is a doctor and to my knowledge Kevin once was but is no more (he broke the law and had his license to practice taken away). Eve proceeds to share patient information with Kevin (did I mention that Kevin his her boyfriend). Sebastian is ill. Things do not look good.

Sebastian asks Ellen to betray Matt and run away with him to New Orleans, after all he is a dying man. How can Ellen at least not consider this request?

Kevin and Eve walk hand-in-hand through the hospital (real professional guys!). Kevin then returns the favor and breeches Julie’s confidentiality telling Eve that he plans on treating her. Kevin leaves to meet with Gail about Julie. Eve is concerned about Sebby. Ellen bumps into Kevin and tells him of her dilemma. To go or not to go, that is the question. Kevin has always been a friend to Ellen and tries to help her sort through these feelings. Ellen is truly conflicted. Sebby tells Eve about his proposal to Ellen (BTW – does Eve ever not gush. No matter what you say to the woman, she gushes). Eve tells Sebby that his offer could hurt many people (good going Eve! Of course telling a dying man he is being selfish isn’t exactly the best bedside manner).

Frank asks Chris if he is loitering in the park to steal ice cream from a child (pretty funny actually). Chris rubs Frank’s nose in the fact that he illegally tested a drug on him and was paid quite handsomely for it. Frank stalls Chris long enough for Courtney to show up with her son Neil. It seems that they are all there to play some ball.

Ellen and Kevin discuss her problem. Should she tell Matt or shouldn’t she? The choice for Ellen is clear. Don’t tell. Kevin promises not to tell. Eve bumps into Matt. They discuss Sebby’s health (they are both doctors, so this is ok). Matt wants to learn from Eve what it is like dealing with terminal patients (Matt has always been eager to learn and be the best doctor he can be). The conversation quickly turns to Ellen and Seb. Eve admits that she is doing something unethical and tells Matt about Seb’s plan for Ellen.

Kevin approaches Eve in the caf. After some nonsensical banter Eve tells Kevin that she told Matt about Seb. Kevin is outraged. Stay out of their lives he says. I don’t pressure you about secrets you keep. (At least Kevin doesn’t tell Eve that he has had this same discussion with Ellen).

Matt confronts Ellen about the situation. He is quite angry (Matt does angry so well. The guy oozes brooding). Ellen admits that she is considering the offer. Matt is hurt. Ellen says that she might never have told Matt the truth. Matt asks Ellen if the trip would be platonic. Ellen avoids the question but Matt calls her on it and leaves. Ellen calls out, Matt please wait…Matt!!

Frank and Courtney meet back at their hide out. She has already ditched her son and now feels regret. Frank says it was for a good cause. Chris meets with the PI. Don’t worry Chris says. I have all the info I need.

Well class, that is today’s lesson. What do you see? I see people lying to better their own lot in life. The irony is, no one has. Ethics are something you will struggle with your entire life. It is not always easy to make the right choice. Hopefully after today you see what making wrong choices can do. Good luck. Class dismissed. ... Oh class wait. Who knew that there were 16 breeches of ethics and morality in 22 minutes? For next class I would like all of you to list as many examples as possible. An A to anyone that gets all 16 correct. See you next week.
