Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 4-May-1999

Sad sad warning - no Kevin, no Matt, no Scott, no Chris, and not even Victor. What is the soap world coming to? But there was a male stripper that can come visit me- oops I meant PC anytime -



Courtney promises Frank a wedding shower Mary will never forget. Frankie would love to stick around but he's got an appointment with the hooker they plan to set Joe up with. Courtney predicts a very bad day for the lovebirds. The lovebirds (aka Karen and Joe) are at the hospital and the epitome of lovey dovey. Karen needs to get ready for the shower - and ask Joe's help in the undressing part (gee you would think she would know how to do that herself ). Unfortunately Joe has to decline the charming offer - he has to meet Frank.

Karen gets a brilliant idea of playing hooky but then worries about the reaction of about to be Mommy-in-law Dearest. Gail, Eve, Audrey and Ellen arrive for the reception where there is lovey talk about Victor and worried talk about Lucy. Courtney gives Karen a hard time for not coming early and helping out. Mary is snippish with Karen. Amy and Karen have Lucky talk. Ellen admits to Eve she is "Torn Between Two Lovers" (oh duh). And this is a special episode- they even let Lark out of the closet and she's not even at work (will wonders never cease?) She has been given a scholarship to Pierce College.

Mary gives Courtney heartfelt thanks and a hug for all she has done. The hooker (Jenelle or something like that) is at the bar and dressed very nicely I might add. Frank snears when she thinks Joe is handsome. A male stripper Leprachaun (I kid you not) dances for the overly excited ladies. (I also feel compelled to add that if Leprachauns have bodies like this one - I intend to do some serious rainbow chasing this weekend).The stripper recognizes Karen as a fellow stripperee.

Stripper guy thinks being a doctor is a great new act for Karen. Courtney - ah - hands (sort of) the guy extra money for his pretending to know Karen act. Mary - big surprise here - is still miffed and extremely wrong when she tells Audrey her sons have never been attracted the the seamier things in life (excuse me while I wipe the tears of laughter from my eyes - I'm guessing she still thinks they are virgins too ).

Hooker gal sits in the table next to Joe's. Frankie calls the police tattling on hooker gal. Hooker gal makes big production of having car towed by mean policemen. Boy Scout-y Joe-y listens and falls for hooker gals tale of woe. Karen - rightly - figures out Courtney planted stripper guy but - wrongly - jumps down Courtney's throat where Mary can overhear her. Joe gives hooker gal money - undercover cops see transaction - and poor Joe is arrest for - well you know.
