Port Charles Update for Wednesday, 26-May-1999

Yay! Today was a Chris day, & as I always say, "A Chris day is a happy day."
The show opened with Chris (looking especially yummy, IMO) & Julie talking on the phone. Chris tells Julie AGAIN that he's NOT going to plant drugs in the orderly's car. (Way to go, Chris!) Oh yeah, one more thing. He's decided he wants ALL of the DL-56 money. (He's as looney as Julie is if he thinks she's falling for that). Meanwhile Kev & Eve are at the lighthouse. I took a short nap, but here's what I think happened. They miss Victor. Kev didn't come to bed til 4AM because he's writing his book (oh yeah, I'm so sure that's the reason). He has an appointment with Julie today. (Ho hum)
Yay! It's a Frank day, too. It doesn't get any better than this. Frank & Courtney are talking at The Recovery Room. Frank rags her about ending up in the fountain at the reception. Courtney tells Frank about Eve having given birth. They decide to tell someone. That way, Eve will think Chris spilled the beans. But, who to tell? Lucy hates Eve, & she can't keep a secret, so she's the perfect choice. Scott & Lucy have a boring discussion about the Nurse's Ball, & their engagement. I like Scott & Lucy together, honest. But, that conversation was dull! Really.
Chris & Eve meet at the Recovery Room. The banter between Frank, Chris, & Eve was priceless! Frank offered to serve them "2 glasses of warm spit." Chris said they'd just have the specials. (I actually saw signs of the old Eve in this scene. She was firing the quick insults right back at Frank.) Eve actually commented that she realized that Chris could lose his hospital privileges for what he did to help her. (I couldn't believe she actually had a thought for someone else.) Chris said "Some things are worth the risk." (Where can I find a guy like this? Do they even exist in real life?) Meanwhile, Courtney is over at the firehouse, spilling the beans to Lucy. Kev visits Julie. She talks about eventually getting released. At GH, Scott reminds Audrey about Lee & Gail's anniversary party. Lee has pictures of Scott's mom in Algeria.
Kevin asks Julie if she ever thinks about escaping. She says no, it would never work. However, Kev tells the doctor that he believes Julie *is* thinking of escaping.
Lucy is about to bust a gut over the news about Eve's baby. But, Courtney makes her promise it won't leave the room. Lucy agrees.
Frank brings Chris & Eve's check. Among the "friendly" banter they exchange is a remark from Chris about it being a good thing that Julie's "pillow-baby" isn't real. What would the child of a fry-cook & a mass murderer be like? Frank tells him there's no danger of that happening. Chris just smiles. Scott & Lee have a heart-to-heart talk. Lee tells Scott he thinks of him as his own. Scott feels the same. Chris is back on the phone with his "beloved." He tells Julie he'll settle for an 85/15 split of the money. Julie counters with 60/40. Chris says nope, but she should give him a call if she's ever out of the nuthouse. (Be very afraid, Chris.) When Julie hangs up, she tells Baby-Nut not to worry. Mommy will make sure she's born someplace beautiful. Kevin & Eve have a (nauseating) scene in which she attempts (badly) to play the accordian (badly). (Thank God it's a short scene!) And, last but not least, Scott comes home to find Lucy frantically trying to call him. His cell phone's on the blink, he says. What's so important? Eve's big secret is that she gave birth to DV's child!!!!(Well, she promised it wouldn't leave the room, so technically, she didn't do anything wrong. Right?) And that's the show for today.
