Port Charles Update for Wednesday, 2-Jun-1999

Welcome to the Norma and Eve reunion show!

Our show starts out with Kevin - and any show that starts for Kevin just has to be good - startling jumpy Karen who is a wee bit concerned about Julie on the loose. Kevin kisses Eve goodbye and leaves. Frankie and Courtney are also concerned - as well as they should be - for as they talk we see Momma-Nut peeking through the window, staring at them. Ohhh the tension.

Scott and Lucy are chatting about the non-bail and Lucy pressing charges. We are treated (oh gee - is my tongue in my cheek again) to a flashback of Lucy in bed with DV and then to a discussion about the engagement ring. Mac enters (and by the way I want to thank whoever slipped the elves the sleeping pills - I have so enjoyed the visits by the GH-ers this week. It almost convinces me they live in the same town. Almost) and says no go on the bail but Tags is ready for Lucy's statement (I would tell that man a story anytime - once upon a time there was a Southern belle - oh sorry about that detour).

Where was I? Oh - Lucy leaves to find Taggart but to her unjoy unearths DV instead. DV once again warns her that spilling her guts will lose her Scott. Lucy warns DV he'll need his big gunnish lawyers, but once Tags gets ready to take her statement she seems unsure. Frank teases Courtney about Julie (oh that's smart Frankie - tempt the gods that rule over soapland. Tsk tsk - some PC'ites never learn). Julie - all manlyishness - follows them.

Oh oh oh - who is this I see? Norma and Eve together again! (Excuse me while I shed a tear). For those not in the know - I refer to the great team of Kevin and Mac. How I miss them! They are discussing Julie's pregnancy that Kevin claims is hysterical (make believe not ha ha tho the last laugh is on those who don't recognize a faked faked pregnancy when they see one - geez where all these characters born yesterday?). Lucy tells Taggart she has changed her mind about pressing charges. And then we have a K/L moment! But not one of the best I'm afraid - Lucy wonders if Kevin figures she and Scott are karma-rewarded but all Kevin wants is Lucy to realize that acting on her impulses hurts people - sometimes including herself. Lucy doesn't agree with his analysis of her and seems genuinely sorry and upset.

When DV informs Lucy he knows that she decided against pressing charges Lucy - chin up high and way to go girlfriend! - informs DV she has decided to take a contract out on him instead. Frank goes after target number one of the day - Karen. Karen tells him about Julie, Scott, and working double shifts. Frank goes on the Joe-attack when he senses she is weakening. He then makes a beeline for target number two - Eve - and tells her he would like her to get his job back.

Eve's response - no surprise here - is snarky. Frankie makes sure she knows that he knows she had a baby. Lucy tells Scott pressing charges against DV will never work - they won't stick. Kevin spots DV and has a bit of news for him - he has figured DV out. DV is nothing more than a school yard bully - hurting others so he can feel better about himself. He calls DV a compensator. (I love it when Kevy goes all cerebal.) DV pokes fun of Kevin's analytical abilities (a sure sign he hit the target) and Kevin warns DV about taking a fall. I love that guy! (Kevin not DV - though I like DV - just in a different way LOL).

Though Courtney is all Julie-worried Joe leaves her. And uh-oh - there's Julie following Courtney up the stairs and that ain't a white flag she is holding in her hand! Ohhhh I am so scared! Frank swears he oops- overheard Chris tell Courtney the baby story. Eve pretends to be all no-concerned but Frankie sees straight through her. Scott turns Lucy's frown upside down. They play the I love you more game. After Scott is removed in handcuffs, Lucy warns DV that she will not only play the game and win but will take him to a whole new league. DV is intrigued. Kevin, who overheard, seems both curious and a bit intrigued himself. Julie goes a bit crazy (who would a thunk it?) looking for her money and saying not very nice things about Frank. Courtney opens the door to the bedroom to find Julie - and a knife - oh oh oh - is it the end for Courtney? I guess you'll have to tune in tomorrow to find out
