Port Charles Update for Thursday, 10-Jun-1999

At Scott's fire house, he is looking at old black and white photos of his mother and other people. Lucy reminds him that Lee said these pictures were taken in Algeria. Scott thinks that DV purposely avoided being in any pictures and wonders why DV dropped the charges against him. Lucy gets that nervous, jittery Lucy-look on her face. She tries to change the subject and talks about the wedding and the adoption. Serena comes home and is thrilled to see her father. He tells her that DV told the truth and Scott was released from jail. Lucy gets her nervous look again. Lucy tells Serena that she is moving back into the fire house and Serena is ecstatic. After she leaves the room, Scott and Lucy tell Gail about their adoption plans and she makes it obvious that she is less than thrilled. When Scott asks about her reaction, she reminds them that they are frequently impulsive. They convince her of their sincerity and she says she is excited at the prospect of another grandchild. However, she is worried about DV staying in town. When Scott says he knows that DV is not finished with them, Lucy gets nervous and fidgety again and of course nobody notices.

Scott and Lucy go to Lucy's hotel room to pack up her stuff. He is surprised to find so much Shakespeare among her books. Lucy reminds him that she used to be a librarian. Someone is at Lucy's door - surprise surprise - it's DV. He brought her a collection of sonnets. He remembers how much she enjoyed reading aloud at the cabin. Scott tells DV that he knows about his connection with his parents in Algeria. DV insists he knew nothing about Scott and Lucy until he saw their Serena line of dresses.

Kevin is reading the newspaper at the lighthouse. He and Eve are thrilled and relieved that Julie was arrested. Mac told Kevin that Julie was found at the amusement park and Eve asks if Chris was with her. Kevin tells her no and that Julie said she escaped to give birth. They joke about the pillow and then start kissing and fall onto the couch. Victor enters, interrupting them. When Eve has left, Victor describes his honeymoon and packs some of his things. Kevin tells him how Julie had escaped. Victor says he feels somewhat responsible for what Greg Cooper did to her. Kevin says he feels some guilt also. Victor thanks him for taking him out of the home and bringing him back to Port Charles. Kevin confesses that he had told everyone that his father was dead. He didn't want people to think his father was crazy like his mother and brother. Victor understands and tries to reassure him that all is forgiven. They weep and embrace and Kevin calls Victor "Father." As Victor is piling up all his stuff, Kevin sees some things drop out onto the floor. He asks Victor why he has a Social Security card and passport in the name of Bill Dyson.

At the hospital, Garcia asks Chris where he was while Julie was on the lam. He says he went to Atlantic City. Eve gets off the elevator and Garcia tells Chris that she was worried about him. Chris asks Eve if she tore Frank and Courtney into little bits. Eve tells him that they stuck to their story. Chris asks what motive he would have to tell Courtney about Eve's baby. Eve replies that Frank and Courtney said that Chris was mad at her for moving into the lighthouse. He can't imagine why that would make him mad. Eve says that they think Chris is in love with her. Chris, for once, is at a loss for words. He nervously admits he has had feelings for her for a long time. Eve is stunned. Then Chris makes jokes about it and Eve laughs, thinking he was joking. She wonders what Frank and Courtney are up to. Chris thinks they want to get to him by turning Eve against him. Neither can imagine why Frank and Courtney are teaming together because they don't like each other. Eve asks Chris how he did in Atlantic City and Chris quips that he hit the jackpot. Janell comes in with Christina. She hands her to Chris and says: "I can't do it. You have to take this kid back." Eve looks on in amazement.
