Hi Everyone! We now join the episode of Port Charles already in progress .......
Wait a minute!! Who IS that gorgeous guy? He looks awfully familiar - Hey that's Matt!! And Ellen - she has exciting news. It's a riddle - Who has been offered a fellowship in Emergency Medicine at SanFransico Medical Center? Ding Ding!! Karen gets it right! Ellen is the correct answer. Matt, very quietly, asks when Ellen is flying out. She isn't - she's flattered, but she has no intentions on leaving Port Charles. Matt looks relieved - and request a private consult in the lounge with her - and off they go - to - consult.
An agitated Mary arrives for work. She thanks Karen for the card she sent. As she gets emotional, Karen leads her away.
Rachel is oh so sad that she has to turn down Chris' "coffee invitation". She has her final interview with Monica. She shares that she thinks she could make Port Charles her permanent home. And would you look at that - there must have been a massive elf-squishing - It's Monica!
Kevvy is researching Rachel - he thinks her sudden determination to get Julie released is strange - she may be more of a detriment to Julie than an assett. Oh yeah, Eve is there too - well, I think it's her - she looks kinda bluish.
Karen tells Mary that she has left a message for Joe to meet Mary at her apartment. Mary doesn't want to leave work, but Karen says that if an emergency arose and something went wrong b/c she wasn't at her best, she would never forgive herself. Karen is going to take Mary home, and is staying till Joe shows up.
Matt jokes about them ending up on a video at the next Nurse's Ball. "Bite your tongue!" Ellen retorts. He'd rather kiss her - again. Matt wants to know how Ellen really feels about the job. He has to ask? After that little "consultation"? Well, this is the second prestigious hospital to pursue her. And the second she's turned down. Ellen admits that if they weren't together, she might consider it. But they are together - and that takes priority. Matt says he'd be lying if he didn't say he loved hearing that. Ellen says that they're finally onto something - why would she mess that up? Matt mentions that he could go with her. She won't let him do that - she's turning them down.
Monica pre-welcomes Rachel to the hospital. She's impressed with her background - Rachel ponders filling Kevvy's big shoes. Chris congratulates Rachel.
Kevin did find out one little teeny thing about Rachel. She accused another doctor of inappropriate behavior toward his patients. He lost his job. Eve wonders about his side of the story.
Mary asks Karen how she can be so nice to her, when she's treated her so badly. She'd blamed Karen for accusing Joe of being unfaitful, when it was Frank who was to blame. Hold up a second, there Mary, I DO believe it's all YOUR fault. Isn't that the way it goes? Karen says that Frank set Joe up, but she was the one that didn't trust Joe. It's something she's working on. Mary admires her willingness to change, she hopes Frank can too. Karen agrees to forgive Mary. Joe arrives - and very rushedly says "IcameasfastasIcould" Now Joe - you have this little diction problem - speeding up the words is not helpful. Joe looks from Mary to Karen in confusion when Mary actually says something nice about Karen. Mary admits that she's been wrong about Karen. Mary counsels that life is short - don't waste one moment not being with the person you love.
Ellen arrives to comfort Kevin. She discusses what it was like to lose Sam - and Sebby. She brings up the subject of Rachel, and says she recognizes her from somewhere. None of the names that Kevin runs by her sound familiar.
Rachel gets a phone call. She's distressed to learn that Ellen turned down the job offer. She decides - rather ominously - that she'll have to get more creative at getting Dr. Burgess out of Port Charles.
Joe tells Karen that she deserved the apology from Mary. Karen compares Mary's feelings for her to her own distrust of Joe. Karen and Joe discuss plans for Victor's memorial service - and he tells her he misses her. Karen says that Gail is helping her work through some things. Joe wants to help - he's ready to deal with their problems head on.
Rachel questions Chris, digging for the story behind the animosity between him and Ellen. After some prodding, Chris says that Matt and Ellen made sure he didn't win The Quartermaine - and he nearly lost his job. No biggie.
