At the Scanlons' house, Neil hasn't eaten any solid foods for 24 hours because he feels so sick from his chemo treatments. Frank tells Joe and Courtney that maybe the chemo isn't working. Joe thinks Neil may need a bone marrow transplant. Chris calls Courtney to tell her the results will be ready soon. Courtney meets with Chris at the hospital. Chris, with a big sly grin on his face, tells Courtney that the samples from Neil's real father has a 50% match with Joe. He delights at the fact that he is making Courtney squirm. He tells her only a sibling could have a match like that. She admits that Frank is Neil's father. Chris keeps taunting her, grinning and gloating. He thought it was bad enough that Joe was Neil's father....but Frankenstein? Courtney tells Chris that Joe and Neil must never find out or she'll tell Julie that Chris has her money. Chris says he'll have too much fun having this information to hold over Courtney and Frank. Back at the Scanlons', Neil wants to eat. Joe says "Chef Daddy" will make something. As always, Frank gets that jealous look. Joe gets a page and leaves for the hospital. Alone with Neil, Frank tells him his suspicions: Neil doesn't really want to eat. He's just saying that to make his family happy. Neil says Frank is right. When Lark comes in, Frank gets an idea and asks her to stay with Neil for a while. Neil wants to know what Frank is going to do but Frank wants to surprise him. Lark and Neil talk about Mary being sad about Victor. Frank comes back with two bags full of comedy videos. Neil is thrilled and hugs Frank who eats it up. When Joe and Courtney come home and see the tapes, Joe hits the roof. He'd like to get Neil away from Frank's influence. Frank also gets heated and almost slips and calls Neil his son, but catches himself. Courtney is nervous during the whole argument.
At the lighthouse, Kevin is sleeping on the couch. He dreams that the young boy is in the room. He doesn't speak to Kevin, but goes to Victor, who is also in the room. Victor speaks to Kevin and then fades. Kevin wakes up. He calls Gail and says he needs to see her. In Gail's office, Rachel wants to pick Gail's brain about projects and grant money. Gail says she is glad Rachel is on staff, but she has made a last-minute appointment. Kevin knocks and comes in. Gail tells him Rachel is on staff. When Rachel leaves, Kevin tells Gail that it was obvious he was there as a patient. He confides that he isn't thrilled with Rachel treating Julie. He thinks there's more to her than they all know. On her way out, Rachel tells Ellen she'll be seeing a lot more of her. In their session, Kevin tells Gail about his visions of Victor and the little boy from the novel. Gail thinks Kevin feels guilty for not being able to help Victor at the end. If he can just accept that he couldn't do anything, she thinks the visions will stop.
Rachel tells Chris that she is glad he is happy for her. Dr. Burgess certainly wasn't. She says that Ellen was bad-mouthing Chris and telling Rachel that she shouldn't be associated with Chris because of his reputation. Rachel assures Chris that Ellen's stories of him won't change her opinion of him. Chris reveals he knows a secret about Ellen. She had an affair with someone and Matt doesn't know about it. Kevin comes along. Rachel tells him it will be hard for her to fill his position. Kevin sees the little boy standing behind her. He gets a headache and sinks into a chair. Rachel looks behind her and sees nothing.
