Port Charles Update for Monday, 6-Sep-1999

The alarm at Karen's wakes her and Joe. They share some long loving glances until Scott arrives. After discussing all of the evil that DV has pulled, Scott and Joe decide to go to DV's together. Karen wants to go with them but Scott says no. As they leave, Karen gets a mischievous look on her face. When Scott and Joe get to DV's door, Scott uses a credit card to try to open it. They hear a female voice with an accent scolding them. They look behind them. It's Karen in a blond wig, a maid's uniform and glasses. Scott is mad at her, but she insists on staying and keeping guard. DV will never recognize her in the disguise. Scott and Joe go inside. They set up something attached to the tv. Karen pokes her head inside and then hears DV coming down the hall. She starts to push her cart in the opposite direction but DV calls out to her. He wants some towels. She says ok and keeps moving away. He asks her to give him towels right now. Scott and Joe hear DV from inside his hotel room.

Victor is being released from the hospital. Kevin, Eve and Mary all are enthusiastic but Victor still looks like his old loony self. Rachel enters his room. She thinks Victor should not be released. Rachel says Victor is incoherent and should remain hospitalized to check what happens while he is on new medication. Kevin says Victor is not a prisoner. Rachel can't keep him there. Mary and Kevin are capable, along with Eve, of taking care of Victor at home. Kevin also reminds Rachel that she is anxious to have Julie released and home again. Eve and Mary are finalizing Victor's release papers. Chris talks to Eve about Julie being out in society again. Chris insists that he and Julie are in love. Eve thinks he's lost touch with reality. Chris still wants Eve to be his best man. Mary asks Rachel to sign Victor's release papers but Rachel says she doesn't think that would be best for Victor. Gail overhears and Rachel changes her attitude and signs the papers. After Mary leaves, Gail asks about the tension. Gail tells Rachel that Kevin is a great psychiatrist and wouldn't do anything to hurt his father. As Kevin, Eve and Mary are wheeling Victor out of the hospital, they talk about Rachel rushing off to an appointment. Eve tells Kevin she thinks Rachel must be with Chris at Ferncliff, trying to convince authorities to let Julie get married. Kevin fears that if Julie is granted permission to marry, it will be a step toward her being released. Kevin tells Mary and Eve to bring Victor home. He'll see them later. He places a call to Garcia.

At Ferncliff, Julie tells Rachel and Chris that she is worried that the judge will not let her get married. Rachel is optimistic and tries to give Julie some hope. When they are alone, Chris tells Julie he realizes how desperate she is to be released so she can be with her baby. When Chris, Julie and Rachel are speaking before the judge, with Leopold there to represent Julie, Kevin and Garcia break through the doors and interrupt the proceedings.
