Port Charles Update for Friday, 8-Oct-1999

If you're a K&L fan, and you missed today's episode, let's just say that it was bittersweet. Since so much was said and so much happened today, I tried to be as thorough as I could. To those of you who don't like lengthy updates, I'm sorry. To those of you who like them, you're welcome.

On with the show:

Scott looks at the screen in DV's office and says "what is this stuff?" He copies down a web address, realizes the secretary will return soon,
and closes the secret panel.

Lucy is freaking out while looking for the remote control. She tells Kevin that she has to watch the weather to find out about the hurricane that is coming. Kevin tries to calm her down. He knows she's upset because she is remembering a year ago, when he found her with Scott in bed. They both look very sad. Kevin reminds Lucy that they never really talked about what happened.

Lucy - "Everything changed for us that day and we never even spoke about it.
Kevin - "No, we didn't."
Lucy - "I hurt you so much."
Kevin - "We hurt each other. Maybe it's time to figure out why."
Kevin brings Lucy a drink and sits down to explain what happened a year ago. He was hoping to find her in Florida to tell her he still loved her. Lucy had no idea. He had left her at the altar. Kevin says he wanted to start over again.
Lucy - "and instead I broke your heart."
{Go ahead and kiss her Kevin!! Do it! Do it!}
Lucy asks him how he honestly felt when he saw her with Scott.
Kevin - "too late Bozo. You walked away from her on your wedding day. So she gets to sleep with whoever she wants."
A tear rolls down poor Kevy's cheek. Lucy wants him to continue.
Kevin - "But deep down I felt that you were mine...that no other man should be with you but me. And what the hell was Scott Baldwin doing, taking my place in your bed? and in your heart?"
Lucy looks really sad and says "oh Doc, no, Scott didn't take your place in my heart. He took a different place." Kevin says he doesn't want to say anything that sounds like he's blaming her. He talks about being minutes away from promising to spend his life with her and after hearing she was dishonest with him, he walked away from her. Lucy explains that she realizes now that she was wrong, but at the time she thought Eve was butting into her life and trying to take Serena away from her. Lucy says that all she ever wanted was to be "Mrs. Dr. Kevin Collins" and she had to watch that dream go up in smoke. She held Eve responsible for that. But she knows now it's because of her and her lies. She caresses Kevin's face. He takes her hand and they gaze sadly and longingly into each other's eyes.
Kevin - "we gave each other much more than we ever lost."
Victor's phone rings. Lucy answers. It's Scott calling. Lucy explains she's answering Victor's phone because Victor left it at the lighthouse where she spent the night with Kevin. She thought it was a good idea for them to spend the night together and pretend they were a couple for anyone who was watching. Scott reminds her they are just pretending. Kevin wants to talk to Scott. He asks Scott about Eve. Scott says he is at the airport but Eve went to meet DV at a restaurant. When Kevin finds out that Eve intended to show DV the photograph, he is very worried. Suppose DV finds out that Eve had his son? Kevin and Lucy start to fight about Eve. Lucy says she's a troublemaker. Kevin gets mad at her. Lucy says she is sorry. Kevin is surprised. Lucy explains that she saw a look on his face - a worried look that she remembers from when he worried about her. Maybe they are both with the right people now. They hug each other. Lucy leaves to check on Siggy.

DV takes a look at the photograph of the boy. He asks Eve why she came to NY, met him in their favorite restaurant, to ask about the picture. Why is this important to her? He asks her why her hands are shaking. Why is she asking him about a boy she can't identify? He tells her he doesn't know the boy..never saw him before. Eve says he's lying. She tells DV that Scott took the picture from his home. DV insists he's never seen it. Maybe it's the caretaker's son? Eve asks if the caretaker lives on Jasmine Island. DV says he never heard of it. Eve says the couch in the picture is in a home on Jasmine Island....Kevin's home. As DV takes the picture, Eve grabs for it and says not to take him away from her. DV asks who it is. Her face is full of emotion - outrage, confusion, desperation. DV says she'll never see the picture again unless she tells him who it is. She struggles with the decision and finally utters "our son." Eve tells him she had his child. He answers sarcastically that he doesn't remember her telling him that she had his child. She explains that she was afraid when she was pregnant, so she ran away and she became sick. The baby died. {While she is discussing this time of her life, she addresses him as David, not DV.} DV asks what she named the baby. She says he had no name. He says that it said Baby Lambert on the death certificate. Shocked, Eve asks how he knew that. He gloats that he knew everything from the beginning. He had her followed. When she checked into a clinic, he bribed the country bumpkin doctor. Eve demands to know what DV bribed the doctor for. DV answers to get his son. Eve can't believe her ears. Her son is alive! She wants to see him. She says she has the right. He answers that she took that same right away from him. He slyly says a visit can be arranged on one condition. Eve takes a deep breath and asks him to name it. DV says that Victor wrote Kevin some letters a few years ago. He wants to see those letters. Eve says she'll ask Kevin about them. DV says she must not mention it to anyone or she'll lose any chance of ever seeing her son. Later, Eve is gone and Mr. Zorin joins DV. Mr. Z isn't sure they should be seen together. DV is glad that Mr. Z has crossed over to his side. Mr. Z asks if he is any closer to getting Victor's letters. DV says he has an insider working on it now - Eve Lambert. Mr. Z is amazed that DV has enough leverage to make Eve betray Victor and Kevin. DV gets cocky and tells Mr. Z that Eve doesn't realize that once he has Victor's letters, Victor is as good as dead.

Eve and Scott are in the plane heading home. Scott asks her how DV reacted when she showed him the picture. She says that he said he had no idea who the boy was.
