Port Charles Update for Wednesday, 13-Oct-1999

DV is on the phone to Rachel – he needs to know if S/L’s breakup looks real to her. She’s unsure – but that hasn’t stopped her from having fun wearing Lucy’s robe etc. DV comments with Lucy apparently out of Scott’s life getting Scott where she wants should be easy for Rachel. Actually it’s the fun part that Rachel is interested in (yeah she’s been a real party animal up to this point.) Lucy is not a happy camper – both with the missing letters and smug mugged Rachel. Scott and Lucy agree that getting their cozy little family back together is important. Lucy is going to write Serena a letter a day – hey maybe the letters are at the convent! (It’s not exactly linear thinking – but then again this was Lucy’s mind in progress.)

Gee it’s my favorite couple still being all cozy down in the stairwell. Kevin tells Eve that she is more valuable every day. (All sort of snarky comments come to mind – but since I am sweet I will let them pass.) Eve has to tell Kevin something he won’t like. Just then – surprise shock shock – Rachel enters so Kevin and Eve go into fight mode. Eve storms off and Rachel follows. Rachel is unhappiness when Eve mentions she has moved in with Chris. She calls Chris and leaves him a terse message to call her back. Dr. Boardman appears and states his intention to vote for Matt as Chief Resident (he has seen the light!)

Lucy babbles on about nuns and convents and her and Felicia’s trip – which boils down to the fact she may have left the letters there somewhere. Scott decides to visit the convent. Well gee since they are going to be separated and all the only solution is to make love. Of course. Oh but darn it the spies are still outside, so Lucy must go. Life is hard they agree as they kiss goodbye. Scott then tosses her stuff outside and they fight once more – very badly (after all the practice Scott and Lucy have had fighting over the years you would think they would be a bit better – heck they should be able to give Oscar worthy performances by now.)

Scott calls Victor – he needs info on convents. And – wait let me rub my eyes and make sure I am not seeing a vision. It is a vision – but it’s also really Matt LOL. Rachel wonders if Matt is working too hard and not getting enough sleep. Matt assures her he is fine. Rachel digs a bit deeper – maybe Matt is working to keep his mind off Ellen? Maybe he is using work as his salvation? Matt thanks Rachel for her “touching” concern. Victor gives Scott nun pointers. Scott asks Victor to look after Lucy - Victor assures him that both he and Monk will. Heck he and Lucy should be in another mischief-like adventure any second now. Victor gives Scott his coat and hat to wear so he can sneak out. Scott gets a phone call from Mac – Katherine Bell is dead. Again.

Rachel runs into Lucy at the hospital who is there on either really late or really early Nurses’ Ball business. Rachel just had to get out of that blouse – she hopes Lucy understands. Lucy hopes Rachel understands that desperate women do stupid things – like go after men who are still in love with her. Eve gets a package with a blue blankie in it. Awwww. She calls DV – again he warns her about telling Kevin. What to do? Kevin appears – something you wanted to tell me?

Eve simply wants the breakup unbroken. Kevin thinks this is the only way they will find out the truth about their baby. They hug. Kevin has faith in Eve. Oh joy. Eve’s eyes fill with tears. Monica appears – Rachel questions Dr. Boardman’s judgment. Maybe he’s not too objective since he was wrong about Matt before. Besides Matt is obviously working too hard so he won’t have to deal with his personal problems – he even told Rachel so. Monica promises to talk to Boardman. Scott pulls Lucy into a closet. He tells her Katherine is dead. Fallen. Again? Says Lucy. Most sincerely dead? Poor Kathy they both agree. Lucy’s sad because her favorite enemy is gone. Scott is reminded about how short life can be. He promises to make all this up to Lucy. They hug – but Lucy doesn’t seem all that certain. Goodbye Scott she tells him. Goodbye Kathy – Katherine.
