Our episodes begins with Chris – not a bad beginning that – trying to reassure a very unreassurable Julie that everything is going to be okay. Julie is convinced that she failed big time with Dr. Davis and will never see her little girl again. Hey look – it’s Aunt Charlene! How cool! Aunt Charlene – looking and sounding the same – ain’t it great how some things never change? – has brought Serena and Christina to see Lucy. Aunt Charlene thinks it’s time for a family reunion – an idea that has Lucy very very happy. Aunt Charlene wonders why Lucy isn’t at the Firehouse.

Lucy may not be there – but Scott is. And so is Eve. She wonders if Scott found the letters. Unfortunately all Scott found at the convent was old habits (here’s hoping he didn’t try to break any.) Eve wonders – gee whiz – if the letters become un-lost will it hurt the COBRA project. Scott shows Eve pictures of Serena and Christina. Eve has one of those flashbacks – in case you missed it the first time Eve is being blackmailed with promised visitations of her son into finding the letters for DV. I am not sure if tptb think we are slow or very forgetful but I think it’s safe to say that everyone understands that (Millions of women put down their irons and nod their heads.) Eve speaks of her son as if she knows he’s alive – a point that no-cobwebs-on-me Scott catches.

Lucy tells Serena a story about bad bad DV (baddest man in the whole da – ah – dang town.) The phony breakup is explained to both Serena and Aunt Charlene and they all pinky swear not to let anyone know – especially DV – that the breakup isn’t real. Serena wonders if she has to pretend to be mad at Daddy. Never says Lucy. Oh good – because I couldn’t do it replies Serena (wait until she becomes a teenager - she’ll be eating those words.) Lucy discusses Aunt Charlene’s very Coe-like behavior (read impulsive without thinking of consequences) with her. What to do about the girls? Lucy can’t imagine being re-separated from them now that she has them back.

Julie frets about the report. Julie worries about lying to Rachel about Christina but all sweet un-thinkingofherself Rachel wants is Julie’s trust. Chris is determined that Julie will get Christina back. Rachel wonders why Julie turned to Chris during her escape. Well there’s the fact that he’s bribable says his loving wife – and then she just knew he would be there for her. Which he was. Chris and Julie discuss the miracle that was Christina’s birth. Ahhhh says the ever-astute Rachel, so this experience brought you closer. Julie frets that Lucy can’t love Christina the way she does – but will end up raising her anyway. The orderly brings in the report – oh oh oh – tension is mounting!

Rachel reads the report as Chris and Julie wait all anxious like. The report says Julie is bruised but no longer broken – as long as she continues to receive treatment she is competent to stand trial. Julie and Rachel do a mutual admiration society hug-fest. Julie remarks she doesn’t have many friends – gee whyever could that be? – but – Rachel interrupts. She understands. Rachel leaves to check on the arraignment. Chris and Julie hold double hands – isn’t it a scary thought that they are the most loving couple in PC-land? – Chris is very proud of Julie. Julie brings up the profits of the DL-56 but Chris has other thoughts on his mind. Like walking down the street with his two girls (er – two? - where will Christina be?) It’s a picture Chris treasures. His family. So does Julie.

Scott hangs up the phone after supposedly telling Lee he and Lucy broke up – why are the parents always the last to know? Eve backpedals as quickly as her little legs will carry her on the little boy issue. The doorbell interrupts them. Lucy announces – for the DV spies benefit – that she is bringing the children over to see Scott. Lots of happy noise-y stuff. Serena announces Aunt Charlene has a bug in her bonnet. Poor thing. Oh apparently it’s a bee Aunt Charlene has there – which I am not sure is better after all. Eve and Serena sit down to catch up – girlfriend to girlfriend. Serena gives Eve a collage – with a stamp on it that has Eve’s immediate attention. Suddenly she is in a rush to leave. Serena couldn’t have given her anything that would mean more.

Rachel warns Julie that the trial could end very unfavorably for her – but Julie thinks the possible rewards are worth the risk. Aunt Charlene in her familiarly homestyle way informs Scott and Lucy that there is no way to keep children 100% safe – so they might as well be where they are happy. Home. With their parents. Scott now wants to keep the girls in PC but the charade must continue. For Eve’s sake if no other reason – she needs to find the truth about her son. Lucy needs her girls with her. Scott is more determined than ever to find the letters.

Eve opens a box filled with items apparently given to her by Serena. She finds another collage – which has a similar stamp. Using a magnifying glass (apparently laying around so that Eve and Chris can periodically check the size of their individual egos – and I mean that in a really nice unsnarky way – really) – Eve discovers that the stamp is from France 1997. Eve realizes that Serena has the letters.

Until next time.
