Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 26-Oct-1999

I was happy to update today. I love Kevin with Christina.


Today started with Frank and Courtney sneaking into the old apartment across from Karen's. Courtney was wearing a ridiculous disguise. Black hat, trenchcoat, etc. They were closing the apartment, and Courtney was afraid of Karen seeing her. Frank told her that Karen was at work. Karen hasn't figured out that Courtney was in on Frank's plan yet. In the process of shutting the blinds, Frank suddenly dived to the floor, whispering that Karen was home. He could see what numbers Karen was dialing on the phone to call Joe.
Figuring out he was joking, Courtney laughed sarcastically.That was it. Courtney was going to leave.
Frank grabbed her arm. "You are exactly where you should be."



To Lighthouse:

Kevin looking adorable talking to Christina. {Kevin uses none of that 'babytalk' that everyone else does} "You're being very good, since Lucy and Aunt Charlene are out buying half of PC. Well at least it's not my money."
The phone rang. Mac called to tell Kevin that Davis found Julie competent. After finding out the trial date was shortly- didn't say when, he went back to playing with Christina. Playing with the baby's feet, Kevin told Christina that "Julie Devlin is right where she belongs. And I'm going to make sure she stays there."


Ferncliff:
"Brace yourself, Port Charles, I am back." Julie was ecstatic.
The first thing Julie intended to do upon her release was get a big cup of GH coffee. "You'd be amazed at the cravings you get when you've been locked up in a place like this for over a year."
Rachel asked Julie if she thought the DA was going to challenge Dr. Davis's findings. Julie reminded her that they have the right.
Rachel told her that "They would have a hell of a time challenging the Court Appointed Psychiatrist's findings." And that she would stop them if they tried.
Julie told Rachel that Kevin was going to be the problem.
"Dr. Collins won't cause you any trouble. I'll personally see to it."


Opening Credits


Courtney was putting things in a box and she yelled in pain. She broke a nail. Frank showed concern for her, until he found out it was her nail. Courtney asked him why he didn't use his money to hire someone to do this.
"Because I want to spend it on Neil."
"What else could you possibly buy Neil?"
Frank, looking very sincere replied. "Anything to make him forget he has leukemia."
An intense moment of eye contact was broken by Courtney telling him that she wished he could buy her something to make her forget.
"I wish I could."
"How can you be such a jerk one minute, and then so sweet the next?"
He asked her if it was part of his charm, and she told him it was infuriating. She expressed fears that Joe would find out that she rented the place with him. Frank told her it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if he did. That she might face the possibility that she would survive if Joe turned his back on her.
"Let's just finish up and leave."
He told her he was only trying to do for her what she did for him. "Showing you that even if you thought you lost everything, you still have a reason to go on." That she convinced him to stay when he thought everyone would be better off if he left.
Courtney went on a pep rant, telling him how great he was, that he would have figured it out, even after the DL-56, he kept going. That Neil was a lot like him, still fighting. Even if he didn't know Frank was his father.
Frank finally agreed that not telling Neil was right for Neil's health, and promised no more threats.


The Lighthouse:

Kevin answered the door, Christina in his arms. Rachel smiled at them, appreciating the reception.
Not impressed with her, he asked her immediately if she was there to talk about Julie.
"I guess I should have called, but I didn't know you were running a daycare center."
"Every dime counts."
Rachel recognized Christina, and was shocked when Kevin told her that Lucy and the baby had moved in.


The apartment:

Courtney stared out the window, looking at Karen's apartment.
They started to think about the past. All Courtney could think about back then was breaking up J&K, and getting the money from Chris.
Frank remembered that the money from the DL-56 was all he could think about.
But now that Neil was fighting for his life, they both realize what's important. Money didn't matter, Frank told Courtney that he would die for his kids. He took Courtney's hand and looked into her eyes.
Courtney looked away. "I wish I..."
"Don't."
They kissed, and the scene went into a very hot blended collage of them kissing from different angles that soap directors love to use. Lying on the sofa, taking off their clothes, falling onto the floor, rolling around on top of each other, you all get the picture.....



The Lighthouse:
Rachel was looking at pics of Christina when Kevin caught her. She told Kevin she couldn't resist. The baby was adorable.
Rachel expressed regret that Christina had to go down for her nap.
Kevin told her he didn't see her as the baby-loving type.
"The mamabear instinct comes out."
"Protective?"
Rachel stared at Kevin. "Let's just say, don't cross me."
The conversation took a turn. "Like I'm doing with Julie?"
Rachel pleaded her case to Kevin, who was unfazed. He agreed that Greg Cooper messed with Julie's mind, but the theory that he committed five murders and convinced her she did it was too much to swallow. He wasn't about to help her put a possible murderer back on the streets.
Mentally, it might be possible, but for Cooper to sneak out of jail repeatedly without being caught.
"Frankly, I'm suprised that a doctor with your credentials would be leading this runaway train."
Rachel told Kevin that she though Julie was mentally healthier than a lot of people in PC. {of course, we know she's not saying much}
"Julie is no more a murderer than I am." {another statement that inspires no confidence from me, whatsoever} "And I'm going to fight with everything in me."
Kevin asked her if she was going to defend Julie at the trial.
Rachel had already headed Kevin off at the pass by going to the state commissioner of mental health. And that he would not start a new hearing.
The baby inturrupted them. When Kevin went to check on her, Rachel took one of the photos.
Returning, Kevin told Rachel that the tape Christina fell asleep to broke. "So I'm in for a few rounds of itsy bitsy spider."
Rachel laughed. "Well, I'd love to see that."
{Me too, he could sing me to sleep anytime!}
Kevin didn't laugh. "No, you wouldn't."



The apartment:

Courtney and Frank were getting dressed. They admit they'd had a few good memories there. Mostly bad, but a few good ones. Picking up the boxes, Courtney donned her disguise and they left.


Ferncliff:
Rachel was happy to tell Julie that Lucy was living at the lighthouse. Lucy and Kevin 'seemed' to be back together, why else would Christina be living there?
Julie was ecstatic. The next few minutes of the show were Julie fawning over the photo Rachel took from the lighthouse. Rachel told her to hang on the that picture and remember that's what she was fighting for.
Julie held the picture and told Rachel that "No one will stop me from being with my baby again."

Jail:
Cooper was chained to the table when Kevin walked in and looked at him.
"Hey, bro! Long time no see."
Kevin stood across from him. "I thought we ought to catch up."
Cooper kicked out a chair. "Have a seat. I'll tell you all about the NY license plate."
"Why don't we talk about something else. For instance the real reason you agreed to help spring Julie."
