Port Charles Update for Wednesday, 27-Oct-1999

Remind me, WHY did I sign up to start doing updates again? Today had no Chris, no Frank, and no Victor -- NONE of my three favorite men. Ah, well . . .

A warning -- there is some snarkiness in this update. Email complaints to me ad D2Leaper@aol.com, and PLEASE, spell my name right, 'kay? (It's V-A-L-E-R-I-E) Cause I print them out and frame them . . . . .

Today's show begins with Scott and Serena -- Serena is wearing an outfit that Aunt Charlene helped her pick out. Scott isn't too thrilled with it, and makes a comment about now he knows where Lucy gets her fashion sense from.

At the hospital, we see Eve (My god, she's actually at WORK! What is this, an early April Fool's joke?) on the phone with DV. She says he'll have his letters soon, blah, blah, blah -- Joe and Karen come over. Scott is throwing a party for Karen, and Eve says she doesn't think she'll be able to make it. Karen mentions that Serena will be disappointed, and all of a sudden Eve changes her tune and says she'll go. J&K turn around to see Rachel, and Karen invites her to the party too. (Isn't this an *exciting* episode so far? Woo-hoo!)

Kevin is visiting Greg -- he says that he'll get his phone privilidges back if Greg tells him how Julie and a 'money grubbing conniver' convinced him to confess to the GH murders. (Hey Kevin, don't you dare call my man that, you middle-aged, horny pinhead! )

At Cafe Matisse (Isn't that a GH set? The elves are on vacation, I guess . . .), Scott and Lee talk about DV, their father/son relationship, and such. Joe and Karen come over (with Rachel). Joe tells Lee and Scott about Courtney's pregnancy. They're THRILLED. (And if you believe THAT, I've got a bridge in Canada to sell you . . .)

Now we have Eve talking to Serena -- Eve, being her usual CARING self, is using underhanded tactics she must have learned from Chris to get info out of a CHILD! Scott comes over and wants to know what their big secret is -- Serena won't tell. (Oh, I could make SO many snarky comments about Eve here, but I'll wait till her next scene with Serena to do that -- that one's even better.)

Lee, meanwhile, yells at Rachel for getting Julie declared competent. And everyone around comments that basically, Julie is nuts.

Back to Kevin and Greg -- Greg tells Kevin how Chris and Rachel coerced him into confessing. BUT, he says that if Kevin tells anyone else, he'll lie about it, and so will Chris and Rachel.

Joe and Karen talk briefly about what their favorite moment of the day was, at the party. (Mine was when this boring-as-hell scene ended. BTW, why wasn't MATT invited to this party? Karen invites EVE, whom she tolerates at best, and not MATT????? What's wrong with this picture?)

Oh, here's MY favorite scene of the day -- Serena gives Eve detailed instructions on how to find those letters. And THEN -- here it is folks -- Eve tells Serena to promise her that she will *never tell a lie again*! Seriously! Meanwhile, she swears Serena to secrecy about this letter thing just five minutes earlier. (So I guess what Eve REALLY meant is to never tell a lie if that lie is going to affect her getting what SHE wants. Otherwise, it's just fine and dandy! Whatever. Can I add a new name to Eve ever-growing list of adjectives? How does 'hypocritical' sound to you folks?)

Kevin calls Scott -- tells him about Rachel and Chris and how they coerced Greg in to confessing.

Greg calls Julie -- she was hoping it was Chris. (So was I.) Greg joking tells her that he just killed Dr. Ramsey -- Julie didn't find that very funny. (Neither did I.) Greg taunts Julie, and leaves her very scared.

And the show is --
