Port Charles Update for Friday, 29-Oct-1999

I don't know how much of the ending I missed, but here is what I got:

Lucy and Christina are dressed up for a Halloween party, but Kevin won't put on a costume. He says that his pretend breakup with Eve is all the make-believe he can do right now. He has a surprise for Lucy though - he brings out Sigmund in a costume. They talk about how Sigmund has gone back and forth between the lighthouse and the firehouse and has had different girlfriends in each place. They both hesitate, realizing this applies to them also. Lucy says (supposedly speaking of Sigmund) "isn't it amazing how easily you just slip right back into the way things used to be."

Eve is at General Hospital and gets a call from DV. He is tired of waiting for the letters. Eve says she hit a temporary snag but says he'll have the letters by midnight. She goes to the lighthouse and calls out Kevin's name. When nobody answers, she snoops around with a flashlight. Inside a closet, she finds a loose panel and pushes it. There is a letter to Kevin on the other side. She is elated. She looks further and sees more letters but pushes them out of reach. After climbing through the panel into an area filled with cobwebs, guess what happens! You got it! It closes behind her. The camera doesn't show her. We hear her banging on the wall and yelling "hey!" Then we hear her scream and something falling. Later, we see Eve on a floor covered with collapsed boards and cobwebs. She gathers up the letters and says she has to get them to DV. She also says she didn't realize the lighthouse had a basement. She starts banging on a door and keeps yelling "help!" Now my question is: who would be there to help her? She knew Kevin was at GH and if either Kevin or Victor saw her with the letters, would she have been able to hide all of them?

Rachel calls Scott from GH. She wants to see him tonight. Scott says he and Serena are already planning on coming to GH for the Halloween party. Scott has flashback of Kevin telling him that Cooper said Rachel was instrumental in convincing him to confess to the murders. Scott asks her how he'll recognize her at the party. She slyly responds that he'll have no problem. Later, Lucy, Christina and Kevin (who seems to be getting very attached to the baby) are at GH for the party. Lucy is happy to be spending some time with Scott but he tells her he's supposed to be with Rachel tonight. When Rachel comes along in costume, she and Lucy trade some thinly-disguised insults. Lucy sticks her tongue out at Rachel when her back is turned. Kevin talks to Rachel privately and tells her he visited Cooper. He says he was told that she and Chris had paid Greg a visit before he confessed to the murders. Rachel remains cool while Kevin says he thinks she and Chris were responsible for the confession. He thinks it was more than persuasion. It was more like extortion, since she promised she would get him out of his prison situation. Rachel says that's an interesting accusation. She finds encounters with Cooper fascinating. He'll say almost anything to get something. Kevin doesn't back down. He claims Cooper can also tell the truth. Scott and Lucy talk about how they are looking forward to the end of the breakup charade. Lucy tells him how Eve came by the lighthouse to look for journals but left without them. Lucy feels strongly that the letters are important in helping to end everything. She has looked for them again, but no luck. Serena arrives, looking adorable in a hobo clown costume. Just as Serena asks when they can stop pretending, Rachel joins them and overhears. Serena covers up quickly by saying she meant pretending in their costumes. Kevin tells Rachel that he intends to pursue what they had been talking about. Rachel says that his conspiracy theory would be better-suited to one of his novels. This time it's Scott who overhears and he asks Rachel about the conspiracy theory. Rachel tells him what Kevin said. They say they can't believe he would say something like that after he slept with Scott's fiancee. Kevin and Lucy are with the girls in a different part of the hospital now. Lucy notices that Kevin keeps checking his watch. Kevin tells her that Eve should have been there by now. Rachel wants Scott to set a day for their dinner date. She'll cook. Scott does a little flirting and Rachel responds seductively.

Kevin and Lucy are back at the lighthouse. She needs help getting out of her costume. The zipper is stuck. Kevin helps. I wonder how often this happens in real life. They both hear a noise. Lucy concludes that it is a raccoon. Kevin jokes that it is spooks. Lucy goes off to sleep. Kevin takes a quick look around, sees nothing unusual and turns off the lights. As he goes upstairs, Eve is losing steam, but still pounding on the wall and calling "Kevin! anyone!" She shines the flashlight around but sees no way out and starts yelling that she is trapped. She puts the light on her watch and realizes she can't make it to DV by midnight. This is where my taping stopped......sorry.
