Port Charles Update for Friday, 5-Nov-1999

At the Scanlon house, Frank wants Courtney to prove that she cares for him by telling Joe that they are a couple, but Courtney says she isn't ready. Joe interrupts and asks if Frank is bugging her. He offers to take her to her Ob-Gyn appointment and she accepts. Frank doesn't look happy.

Frank and Karen literally bump into each other at GH. Karen warns him about stalking her. Frank says he lost interest a long time ago. Joe and Courtney come down the stairs, laughing and happy. Frank plants some seeds of doubt with Karen by suggesting that Joe has other interests in Courtney besides the baby she is carrying. Frank reminds her that Joe wanted to knock John Kanelos' head off way before he even thought he was Neil's father. They both know that Courtney has a thing for Joe. Frank says she has stuck around because Joe keeps dropping her crumbs. Karen thinks Frank needs psychiatric help. Frank and Karen leave and Joe and Courtney come to wait for her doctor's visit. Joe doesn't think he should go with her to the doctor because they are not a typical expectant couple. He will be there for her during her pregnancy. Courtney says this is not the way she imagined her next pregnancy would be. He tells her she'll meet the right guy one day and all her dreams will come true. Courtney gets very serious and says she has to tell him about Frank. A nurse comes to get Courtney for her appointment. Joe says he'll wait right there for her. Courtney says that what she has to tell him can't wait any longer. After her appointment, Joe tells Courtney that he can see that she has become more uncomfortable around Frank. He thinks that Frank is a negative influence on Neil and should have done something about Frank sooner. The reason he didn't is because he sometimes still sees Frank as the great big brother he used to be. But now he's going to tell Frank to get out of the house. While he is going on and on about Frank, Courtney keeps trying to interrupt him. She is amazed he has reacted this way. Finally, Joe takes Courtney in his arms just as Karen walks by and witnesses it.

Scott calls Lucy and tells her to keep Kevin busy. Victor comes down the stairs, after sneaking in through a window to avoid being seen by DV's men. They are ready to go into action. He has written a virus into the formulas. Now Eve can give the letters to Bordisso. Victor says a big part of him hopes that Eve doesn't take the bait. He knows how DV preys on people's vulnerabilities. Victor worries about what Kevin will think when he finds out that he helped set the trap for Eve. Victor explains to Scott how the virus will work. It will seek out certain email addresses and within ten seconds they will be infected. Scott questions how well it might work. Victor takes offense. He knows that he knows more about this than anyone. Scott doesn't like keeping Kevin in the dark but they have to because he is on Eve's side because he loves her. Scott calls Eve and she comes to the lighthouse. Scott apologizes for the way he talked to her about the letters. He says he knows she would never intentionally put his family in jeopardy. She asks about the letters. Scott says Victor is working on them at the firehouse. She asks what he'll be doing for the rest of the day and he tells her he'll be out the whole day. Later, Eve returns and takes the letters.

At the lighthouse, Lucy tells Kevin she has made him breakfast as a peace offering. He tells her that he wants to see Eve alone today. He won't give up until she tells him something. When Kevin wants to leave without hardly touching his breakfast, Lucy tries to detain him by asking him silly questions. Aunt Charlene returns from her power walk and Lucy tells her she needs her help. Aunt Charlene catches on and faints into Kevin's arms as he starts to leave. When Kevin finds out that there is nothing in Aunt Charlene's medical history that would account for her fainting, he wants to call an ambulance. Lucy says no and Aunt Charlene starts to snap out of it. Kevy is no dope. He asks Lucy and Charlene why they are trying to keep him there. Kevin gets really mad and starts hollering at Lucy. He demands to know why Lucy doesn't want him to go and see Eve. Lucy says she doesn't want to lie to him. She tells him that Scott is setting up Eve to see if she is working with DV. She explains the plans with the letters.
